I stayed at the Ramada Denver Downtown and I had heard a lot of things before about the location (East Colfax, known for its particular features), not at all positive. After staying there for two weeks, I can say I don't regret my choice.

First of all, it's not a five-star hotel nor it intends to be so. I stayed at a no-frills room (which was very well taken care of during my visit) with basic features, such as a big TV, a very nice bed and a desk good enough to use my laptop on.

The hotel is in the process of being renovated and it shows. The business center is brand new and has state-of-the-art computers. However, the process isn't complete but it should be over soon.

East Colfax can be noisy with its clubby-like scene and you can find the occasional homeless guy begging for money. However, there's several eating choices not very far away, ranging from fast food chains such as Papa John's, Wendy's, McDonald's; up to pizza places like SliceWorks and a very nice Italian bistro named Caffe Sanora right across the street which might surprise you with healthy lunch alternatives. If you want a fancy dinner, downtown is not far away. You can also find a very nice old-fashioned barbershop a block away. Definitely worth trying if you need a haircut.

The location couldn't be more strategic: 5 minutes away from the Civic Center (including its main bus station), and not very far from the 16th street mall, Coors Field and other locations. There is even a Post Office and a grocery store not very far from there if you need to get a snack or send some correspondence.

They also have a great shuttle service that can take you to lots of places downtown and even to the upscale Cherry Creek Mall, home of brands such as Burberry, Apple and department stores such as Macy's, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. One thing that I really appreciated was the punctuality of their schedule. They go at the scheduled times and pick you up at the exact time you agreed upon.

The staff is very helpful, kind and they cater to your needs. They really go the extra mile and are extremely kind and supportive. Most of them, if not all, are bilingual English/Spanish. I was very happy to stay at the Ramada for almost two weeks. If you want a reasonably priced hotel not too far away from downtown, and you don't need luxury features, this is a good place to go to.

The main part of the hotel room may have been recently remodeled, had a fresh clean look to it. The bathroom was surprising since it had not been remodeled, old looking. Very roomy bedroom area with a counter top in and out of bathroom. This made-up for the cramped bathroom for two people. Central air offered not the usual window ac it worked very well. The elevators were very slow and we ended up using the steps to get to the third floor all but twice on our way up to the room & down for our three days. Good location close to many restaurants. If you like Chinese food make sure you go down to Grand China Restaurant - right out of the parking lot onto Colfax about 2 miles. We ate two dinners there delicious food and good service.

Room Tip: If you have a trailer or RV to park get there very early in the evening or you may not find a place...

Thank you for staying with us at the Ramada. We are in the process of remodeling the property and we are excited that the guests are noticing the changes. Though we are located near to downtown we still offer complimentary parking and that is one of our amenities that sets us apart from other downtown hotels. If you do have an RV please call us ahead of time so we can be of assistance in reserving you a spot. We look forward to having you stay with us again.

Great customer service, reasonable rate, clean and comfy room. We checked in around 12:30 am and while we were at the desk one of the house keepers called because she was worried she had forgotten to clean a room. That's dedication, and to find out she had been working there for over 20 years! And they gave us a ride to the bus station the next day. Will def recommend and come back again.
