I was recently in Denver for a convention and stayed at the Brown Palace. It is a few blocks away from the convention center, but it is a very pleasant walk through the 16th Street Mall. The hotel was impeccably clean and the service was first rate. My girlfriends and I had a wonderful dinner one evening in the Ship Tavern and we also enjoyed afternoon tea in the lobby area. It was grand. Everything about the hotel reflects a bygone era of elegance. It is an oasis of charm and graciousness. They feature quite a number of unusual teas in their afternoon tea service including a rare Vietnamese black tea and some tasty signature tea blends. You can also purchase these teas from a tiny shop inside the hotel. It was a very nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Our room was spacious and well maintained. We all loved the large shower with the rain shower head.

This hotel is really like stepping into a time warp with the amazing service and attention to detail. They have a lot of class here like the product. One thing I found interesting is that it has a really high atrium center and I felt like the railing preventing someone falling hundreds of feet wasn't that high but since no one has fallen I guess that speaks for itself.

Pros: wonderful glass shower which is larger then the rest of the bathroom, one of the softest beds I have ever slept in, amazing bell staff who walk you through the history of the hotel while on route to your room, wonderful room service (had the hamburger but you could pick from three types of meat, kobe, angus, and buffalo)

Cons: my room was so tiny it only fit the king bed and a narrow path to walk around it (this wasn't a big deal but more than one in a king room will feel too close), no mini bar or fridge in the room, gift shop isn't open past six so there is also no place to get things if you fly in later like I did

Overall it was a gorgeous hotel and I am so happy I stayed there

Room Tip: do not sleep in a king room with more than one person

This is a great hotel to stay in. The service was superb and the rooms are very nice. Make sure you have the afternoon tea and at night enjoy a cigar in the Churchill Bar. I prefer to eat at the Ship Tavern dining area in the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel with my family during our trip to Denver. As many people have mentioned already this hotel is a step back in time but with the modern amenities of today. The hotel staff was very friendly and the rooms were impeccable. There isn't a gym in the hotel itself, but you are granted access to the Comfort Inn's gym which is directly across the street (accessible from a skybridge connecting the two hotels). It is nothing too crazy, but it does the trick.

The lobby lounge is also very nice and they often have live music, which is a nice touch. All in all a great place to stay while in Denver.

I have stayed at the Brown Palace countless times. Without exception, this hotel is one of the best in the world. Some of the rooms can be small - it is a very old hotel after all - however the rooms have been uniformly well decorated and comfortable. On our last stay, my husband and I had a beautiful double room and we loved our stay. The staff was welcoming and helpful.

Room Tip: The hotel has a large atrium in the center that goes up several floors (I don't remember if it g...

It is very charming. The lobby is breathtaking and invites you in. I would love to go back to do the afternoon tea service. No time when we went. The rooms are very comfortable and modern despite the old world feeling of the rest of the hotel. Ate at the pub. It was very good, excellent service but a little crowded.

Room Tip: Choose the higher floors for a better view.

A wonderful visit with my granddaughter. Spent my wedding nite there 52 years ago. The quality of service and the beautiful hotel remains the same. Hope to return many more times when I visit Denver. Agree the shower was a new addition from last visited probably have stayed 8 or more times in the past 52 years always a great experience.
