I was recently in Denver for a convention and stayed at the Brown Palace. It is a few blocks away from the convention center, but it is a very pleasant walk through the 16th Street Mall. The hotel was impeccably clean and the service was first rate. My girlfriends and I had a wonderful dinner one evening in the Ship Tavern and we also enjoyed afternoon tea in the lobby area. It was grand. Everything about the hotel reflects a bygone era of elegance. It is an oasis of charm and graciousness. They feature quite a number of unusual teas in their afternoon tea service including a rare Vietnamese black tea and some tasty signature tea blends. You can also purchase these teas from a tiny shop inside the hotel. It was a very nice place to stay.
