Everything about this place makes sense as soon as you realize that it used to be right across the parking lot from the old Denver-Stapleton airport. The out of the way location, the incredible vaulted grand lobby, the rooms arranged like some sort of a proto-motel, everything.
After Denver International opened, Stapleton was shut down, and the area is being redeveloped. There is a mall right across the street, and several restaurants nearby, There is even a city bus stop right in front, so downtown is just a half hour away.
The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the water pressure in the shower is strong, the wifi is high speed, and the staff are friendly and courteous. What more does one need, anyway?
One problem: the staircases appear to be reserved for emergencies only, and the elevator is unwieldy, especially if you are only going up one or two storeys.More
