“Nice rooms, small gym”
Reviewed December 17, 2013

I stayed here with around 400 colleagues for a conference in November.

Check in was smooth and the staff were efficient. There are only about three elevators which caused a bit of a bottleneck when we were leaving; but not unexpected with so many people trying to get out at once.

The ground floor floorplan was a bit odd, with a giant L-shaped lobby/bar/reception area. It was all a bit loud and spread out. The rooms were excellent: spacious and comfortable. In the bathroom we were left with a personal note from our housekeeper encouraging any feedback from us: we thought was a really nice touch.

The hotel boasts an outdoor running track, which is kind of small, but also pretty cool: you can run around outside on the fourth floor surrounded by skyscrapers and enjoying a distant view of the Rocky Mountains - pretty surreal at sunrise. The gym is too small. At 6am I had to wait 30 minutes to get on a machine. The pool is very nice, but too shallow to be of much use for any serious exercise.

The hotel location is great: just 3 minutes from the 16th Street Mall. The staff were amazing. We asked one if she would be prepared to appear in a little funny video for us and she was more than happy to participate; she was a good sport.

We didn't try the restaurant or bar.
Our stay was a great experience, even if it was just two nights.

My stay at the Grand Hyatt was wonderful! The sweet touches included light sensors in the closets and in the bathrooms so there was light when you needed it. The king sized bed was comfy and warm. Overall it was a great stay in a hotel located near the Art Museum and Brown Palace Hotel.

This is a nice hotel, in an area of nice hotels, restaurants, and shops. As others have mentioned, it is just 2 blocks from the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall, which is lots of fun to explore. My room was very neat and clean, and the staff was very friendly. No complaints.

Room Tip: My first room was by the elevators, which can be a little noisy.

The hotel is just two blocks away from the 16th Street Mall.
All the staff we met was extremely helpful and friendly.
Our room at the 25th floor was wide and spotless.
The Grand club at the 26th floor has a good choiche at breakfast and snacks all day long.
I would come back again.

Great hotel in a great location right off the 16th Street Mall but better than anything was the exception service. From the valets to the front desk to the bartenders, everyone was warm, friendly and more than helpful. I will absolutely stay again!

In this age when customer service seems to be dwindling to non-existent in the service sectors (think: airlines and rental car companies) the Grand Hyatt Denver was a welcome breath of fresh air. I stayed here for a mega-conference at the Denver Convention Center, a quick 5 block walk, and the everything at the Hyatt was truly grand. The girl at check in, Alexis, gave me the 25th floor quiet room I wanted with no connecting doors. I'm a light sleeper and easily woken up. It was quiet, all sharply refurbished, clean and thoughtfully designed. I stayed here back in 2006 or so and this is quite a facelift Hyatt gave the hotel.

All the staff from the front desk to room service to the concierge were superior and helpful. Room included a plush robe, pretty good toiletries, a fridge, and in-room coffee. Nice gym and pool area too.

This isn't technically a 5 star hotel but it sure sports 5 star service. I would say here again and recommend to friends and colleagues. There is a starbucks across the way and lots of eateries and stuff to do in the area. The only drawback and this has nothing to do with the hotel: parking is ample, but I don't advise parking in the self-pay garage right across the street. First of all, its dark and creepy, and they lock the doors from each level to the elevator early in the evening, so I had to walk down the narrow spiral ramp after I parked on the 3rd level one night to get out of the garage. Second, the have a cash only pay machine at the exit and no attendant at night, which is a pain if you don't use cash. Third, they have a sign out saying that hotel parking is only $5 per day, but that runs only from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm, then a new day starts. So plan to pay $14 per day if you park there. Better yet, park somewhere else.

Back to the review- thank you Denver Grand Hyatt staff for a great stay at your hotel.

Room Tip: High floors are always nice.

We arrived at this centrally located hotel during the early evening after a long day’s travel. Our rooms were comfortable, well lit and spacious, the furniture and furnishings were of good quality and the bathroom was well appointed with the usual toiletries provided. I was pleased to discover that there was a room safe.
Dining:
We elected to eat in the Pub17 restaurant as it had begun to rain heavily. The waiting staff were very attentative and it appeared to be a popular venue for the after-work crowd. The menu was varied and we were able to select a very nice meal at a reasonable price. As the restaurant didn’t have the blend of wine I usually order, the waiter was very patient and provided me with a couple of tasters before I made my selection. Good quality meal with excellent table service.
We also ate breakfast at this venue the following morning. Unfortunately, one of the breakfast staff attending tables appeared to resent any requests put to her by the diners. We had to ask for orange juice, as did other diners, also jelly for toast. What a difference in attitude to the evening waiting staff! Fortunately, the breakfast was enjoyable, and so was the greeting and goodbye given by the female staff member at the entrance to the restaurant.
