“Lovely, Chic Hotel in heart of downtown”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

The check-in staff was efficient but curt. They did not mention any of the hotel benefits.

The room itself was standard space-wise but nicely decorated and with high ceilings. More lighting options would be appreciated, as there were only 2 lamps for a somewhat long and narrow space. Even though we were only on the 1st floor above ground level, we heard little street noise and not a sound from the rooms above or next to us. The light switches for the bathroom lights are in odd locations (outside the bathroom and far in, next to the sink?). A second luggage rack would be appreciated. Fluffy robes are a nice touch, especially after a soak in the nicely lit garden tub.

Breakfast was adequate and convenient to have in the hotel, but required a trek down some fairly steep and hard-surfaced stairs.

The valet/car service staff was very helpful and efficient.

The location is a bonus. We were able to walk to the 16th St. Mall Shuttle to go to the Tattered Cover and then on to the AmTrak station (a little squirrely, due to construction, but not a far walk, even with. luggage).

We stayed at the Magnolia Hotel - Denver over Labor Day weekend, and were pleased with its handy location and cleanliness. It is location right at the 16th St. and Stout rail line pick up for the D and H lines. It was a busy weekend but the hotel personnel handled large numbers of people well. They had a better than average complimentary breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage, as well as the usual fare. For a downtown hotel I would say its a very good value. Our only suggestion is an update of the "70's" style lobby is badly needed. It is too dark and doesn't look elegant, hip, or friendly when you enter. No idea what "look" they were going for. Otherwise, a good choice a half block off the 16th St. Mall area.

The downtown location was very convenient for us because we were taking the train to California from Denver and coming from the airport by public bus. We walked everywhere while there and got a feel for the city. Having had a free happy hour, we decided to eat in the downstairs room where breakfast was served. The food was very good, promptly served and inexpensive. Cookies and milk at bedtime was also free. The breakfast was good too! The room was clean and although not large, perfectly adequate, quiet and comfortable. The staff in all areas was courteous and helpful.

Wonderful location by the 16th st shopping area. Clean, comfortable, a free cocktail in the early evening. Will give you a free ride to the museums if you ask nicely. Breakfast included. Although we had a room overlooking the busy street, it was not a problem,- probably some soundproofing.
We shall return next time we are in Denver.

To echo many of the other comments below, the Magnolia Denver is a great hotel. Most importantly, it is very clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the evening reception was a nice perk. I would definitely recommend the Magnolia for anyone looking to stay in Denver.

Quick stop in Denver on our way to Boulder. Glad we picked the Magnolia. Room was very big and pretty comfy. Just one block away from the 16th Street Mall. We went for drinks about a five minute walk away on the trendy street. Really enjoyed complimentary cocktails, cookies and milk later evening and "better then normal" continental breakfast. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Suite is very spacious

This was one the best hotel stays we've ever had. Get the suite! Super comfortable, plenty of space to relax, two TVs, full kitchen, and excellent bath! Free breakfast, Free happy hour, Free cookies, Free car service in town. Excellent location in the city, half a block off of the 16th street mall (free shuttle bus on the mall). Was staying for an event at the convention center, and it was only about 3 blocks (5 min walk). All kinds of restaurants, shopping, and bars right there. Very clean and up to date. Every single employee was upbeat and helpful. Excellent service.

Room Tip: Corner suite was absolutely outstanding. Do the suite upgrade!
