The check-in staff was efficient but curt. They did not mention any of the hotel benefits.
The room itself was standard space-wise but nicely decorated and with high ceilings. More lighting options would be appreciated, as there were only 2 lamps for a somewhat long and narrow space. Even though we were only on the 1st floor above ground level, we heard little street noise and not a sound from the rooms above or next to us. The light switches for the bathroom lights are in odd locations (outside the bathroom and far in, next to the sink?). A second luggage rack would be appreciated. Fluffy robes are a nice touch, especially after a soak in the nicely lit garden tub.
Breakfast was adequate and convenient to have in the hotel, but required a trek down some fairly steep and hard-surfaced stairs.
The valet/car service staff was very helpful and efficient.
The location is a bonus. We were able to walk to the 16th St. Mall Shuttle to go to the Tattered Cover and then on to the AmTrak station (a little squirrely, due to construction, but not a far walk, even with. luggage).
