Just across the way from Downtown Denver (Speer North to Zuni, right to 32nd and Zuni), Duo feels very comfortable and chic at the same time. With a seasonally rotating menu (we had the Winter Menu) the party enjoyed Lamb Shank (falling off the bone tender and delicious), Salmon with Roasted Parsnips and Kalamata Tapenade, Hand made Linguini with Mussels, and Hanger Steak with Bone Marrow butter and Risotto Carbonara.......ALL were better than they sounded and they SOUNDED pretty damn good to start!
With starters including Cornmeal Crusted Rabbit and a Clams with a vermouth broth, ham and celery hearts base, the array was dazzling and impeccable.
What I liked about Duo was the relatively small menu (12 main entrees) but that each and every one was done to perfection and were delicious. There was not a morsel to be found on ANY of our plates at meal end. (The portions were also probably 80%-90% of what I would have LIKED them to be but given the performance it could be overlooked.....
