My husband and I spent a lovely night at the Castle Marne. We arrived there later than we would have liked (due to traffic), so we didn't have time to get the full tour and explanation of the house's history when we arrived, since we needed to run for a dinner a reservation. But the following morning, the owner Jim talked to us about when the home was built, how it was used at various times, and how they restored it in 1989 after it had fallen into disrepair. It's beautifully decorated, both on the main level and in our room. Everywhere you look, there are so many intricate details from the hand-carved wood to the peacock stained glass window as well as hundreds of wonderful treasures from years gone by ... china, silver, vases, photographs, needlepoint, etc., etc.

We stayed in the Presidential Suite (pictures included with the review) and thought it was amazing. Even though it is on the front side of the house (the street), we didn't have any issue with noise from outside. The suite is very large with a sitting area in the bedroom and a large bath area that includes a cute table & chairs, a jacuzzi tub, and a door out to the balcony. There is a sink/toilet/shower area separate from that. I was pleased that we had ample towels provided so we could use the jacuzzi tub at night and then shower without using a damp towel the next morning.

We were offered a choice of two times for breakfast, as they offered two sittings each day. We especially enjoyed the muffins and jam.

If there was any downside at all, it was that the location was not far off a main street in a not-all-that-nice area of town ... liquor store nearby, etc. So you don't have that same "getaway" feeling that you sometimes get at a B&B -- until after you step through the front door, and then it was great. We would recommend it highly to others.

Thank you for your wonderful review. We are so pleased you enjoyed yourselves and have shared your thoughts with future TripAdvisor travelers. Jim sends his regards and hopes you come back soon to learn more about the Castle's rich history.

It is guests like you that make what our family does so satisfying. The days are long and it's good to be reminded every now and then that our passion for this Castle is appreciated by our guests.

On behalf of the family and staff of Castle Marne Bed & Breakfast, please come back again soon.

We stayed a couple of days after our ski trip in Breckenridge. This place is the most cosiest and individual place we have ever been to. Every Room is filled with so many accessories from further times. Amazing, how the owners take care of this castle and you can feel that they really love it themselves. Breakfast is great and it is so relaxing having Jim around, talking about the castle's history and recommendations for Sightseeing in Denver. We will definitely come back!

Jim was very pleased that you enjoyed learning about the history of the Castle Marne over breakfast while you were with us. We don't call him "Mr. Castle Marne" for nothing. Of all the family and our stories, Jim's are the best.

Did he tell you the history of our haunted Cheesman Park? It used to be the city cemetery turned into an up-scale, high society neighborhood park surrounded by million dollar mansions. To make a long story short, there are still thousands of graves buried there with just as many stories of lost souls haunting the gardens and walking paths. The next time you are with us, pre-order a gourmet picnic and we'll send you off to watch the sun set over the Rockies while enjoying dinner amongst the ghosts.

Until then...

We chose Castle Marne for the opportunity to stay in a historic location, but the warm and friendly demeanor of the hosts was exceptional. We loved our time there and each room had its own unique character.

What a lovely review, thank you! The family takes great pride and pleasure in caring for and running this National and Local historic landmark. We consider it our honor to share this treasure with as many guests as we can. The three generations of our family make it our mission to preserve the past for the present and the future. Since you have family in the area we look forward to having you back often.

Until we see you again, au revoir

When my daughter moved to a new apartment in Denver, we were delighted to find that there was a bed and breakfast located right around the corner. The Castle Marne is situated in the midst of many of Denver's grand old historic mansions. It happens to be one of the most, if not the most imposing and lovingly restored. We found the history of the house intriguing, and the restoration impeccable. The furnishings and the house itself are stunningly beautiful, and a reminder of the craftsmanship of a by-gone era.

The owners were friendly and informative and made us feel at home, and more than welcome. They invited us to look around the "castle". All unoccupied rooms were open for us to admire..
The accommodations were comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was hot, fresh, and delicious. It was a pleasure to linger over breakfast and visit with the owners.

We would highly recommend The Casle Marne to any traveler who is weary of the usual hotel experience. If you want to relax and just hang out in a beautiful place as well as learn a little history of the area, you're sure to enjoy a stay at The Castle Marne Bed and Breakfast.

A wonderful B&B experience. Delightful and accommodating staff. High quality meals. Breakfast was outstanding. The staff made us feel at home. The bed, bedding and towels were truly superior. We will recommend this B&B to our friends and will definitely return.

Room Tip: All bedrooms good value except the Melissa Room which was somewhat cramped.

Thank you for your comments about the Castle Marne, our service and delicious food. We appreciate it very much. Your thoughts about the size of the Melissa room is very true. It is our smallest room. For many travelers price is an issue so we keep the Melissa room the least expensive. Whenever possible, we offer to store luggage and or upgrade when we have the opportunity. The next time you are coming through Denver, please let us know so we can upgrade you to a bigger room at no additional price.

Warmest Regards from the whole family.
