We had a wonderful stay. The house is gracious, the room is beautiful with a lovely balcony, the location is perfect, we had a delicious breakfast in the garden and Carl and Bailey were friendly and nice. If we ever go back to Denver we will definitely stay in this B & B again.

We had a great stay at the Capitol Hill B&B. We stayed in the Pasque Flower room. It is on the third floor but it is worth the trip up the stairs. The whirlpool bath tub is enormous. Bailey and her husband were great.

We're a Dutch couple travelling through Colorado on vacation.
This B&B is a great place to stay when visiting Denver. It is located within easy walking distance from the attractions Denver has to offer. The house is on a corner of 2 reasonably quiet streets. The bus stops right in from of the house, which gives a little noise, but also is very convenient if you want to reduce the walking through town part.
The house is a historic mansion, well preserved in the original style, with a beautifully maintained garden, and the interior is carefully and tastefully decorated befitting the era the house was build. The room (forget me not) is in style, with a nice four poster bed, a lage-enough bathroom with no bad but a good shower. There's also a fridge and microwave tucked in a 'closet'. The paperwork in the room (and on the web site) needs some refreshing: For example, there's no telephone in the (our) room, while there's a whole section on how to use it...
The absolute highlight is the breakfast. It starts with a proper coffee (French press with a house special blend), there's fruits, cereals and pastries as usual, but the highlight is the cooked 'main', which is a piece of edible art, very tasty. And all together it is enough to consider skipping lunch.
The owners are cheerful, but a bit distant. Only at breakfast they are really present. In the afternoon we saw them, but without any interaction. We had to go look for someone to get some dinner suggestions, and the get-to-know-you wine hour did not happen either.
All in all a nice experience, definitely a luxury B&B feeling.

Dear Onno J, first we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to you for choosing the Capitol Hill Mansion and also bringing to our attention two very important issues; one that affects all guests, internet speed, and the in room telephone.

We were shocked to hear of the slow wireless speed, as we do our best to accommodate guests with the fastest internet service possible within our business scope. After reading your review we checked the wireless connection and our findings aligned with your comments about spotty and nonexistent service. We concluded that our router was defaulting so we immediately purchased a new router and fixed the problem.

Denver experienced an electrical storm last month and it fried the telephone system, water sprinkler system, all cordless phones, and doorbell and fax machine. Since I have purchased an existing phone system to replace the last one, I have been waiting for the programmer to come by and program the phones. I removed the phones form the rooms so that every time the phone rings, it would not ring in your room and disturb the guest. We are currently waiting to reinstall the phones as the programmer re-programs the phone system. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

We are always currently available here at the Mansion, but we do have work each day with housekeeping and such. There are times that we do step out in the evenings for a Concierge Event or Tourism event (meetings).

It should not be the responsibility of our guests to bring these issues to our attention but unfortunately this problem was solved with your help. We are now making daily checks to ensure the new router functions properly. Our service is now fast enough to stream video without a problem from all rooms of the mansion

Guest satisfaction is our number one concern. We would like to extend our sincere apologies to you, thank you for your honesty, and offer to do anything we can to revise your opinion of us. We hope you give us another chance, Sincerely, Carl and Bailey

I had a wonderful stay at a lovely and peaceful bed & breakfast in Denver. The room was absolutely exquisite with a lovely outside balcony. From check in to check out, the experience was fantastic. You can't do better than Carl and his staff. And, the French toast is truly the best I have ever had!

It truly is a gem! The building is set in the heart of Capitol Hill with a charm that can't be beat. Carl and his crew provide spectacular customer service from the moment you arrive at the door. Breakfast is the best in town. No lie. I have never loved a scone as much as I love the chocolate scones at Capitol Hill Mansion Bed & Breakfast!!

I travel every week for work, and go to Denver every month or two. I usually am maniacal about garnering "points" with the Marriott and Westin, but I wouldn't even consider it when I'm in Denver! Capitol Hill Mansion is such a homey place, with super friendly service and in a fantastic location - I give up hundreds of points every year because Capitol Hill Mansion is so good!

Room Tip: All rooms are unique, so look for the amenities you want (jacuzzi tub, fireplace, etc) and choose ac...

We were married in the parlor and had a gourmet multi course meal served on the patio. Carl made sure everything was perfect. Bailey and Wes were charming and helpful. Everyone who attended is still talking about what a lovely evening it was for all of us. Our suite was tasteful and breakfast was wonderful and served in such a friendly atmosphere. Other guests were friendly and conversations were pleasant and are part of are memories of our time at the inn.
My new husband says we must go back again for our anniversary.
