“Pretty park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

This park is large and the grass is green. Traffic is a little loud but I like the park overall. Big trees and close to a grocery store just in case you want to have a picnic or smething.

“Smaller than Washington but Bigger than a Bread Box”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

Many people think of two other parks when they come to Denver before Cheeseman. They either choose Denver Park or Washington park. Both of those choices are great and easily accessible by both car and public transportation. But Cheeseman Park is a place unto itself. One thing that really sets it apart from all the others is its trees. The park is literally surrounded by a ring of trees. There are several flower gardens located close to the every famous Pavilion. For those of you who may not know it The Pavilion at Cheeseman is the site for many a fashion photography shoot. More than both Washington and Denver Park combined.

Spooky note. Most people do not know that Cheeseman Park is the former site of a graveyard. Some people have reported seen spectres and finding cold spots, which I have personally experienced both. The spectres have never demonstrated any hostile intention and the cold spots can even make a hot day sunning much more comfortable because its always fifteen degrees cooler than the space around you even in broad daylight. How's that for fun in the sun.

“Love the pavilion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2012

This is such a wonderful 80-acre park in the lovely Capital Hill area of Denver, surrounded by historic mansions and pristine old neighborhoods. There is always something interesting to do in the park, even if if is just to stroll the botanical gardens. The Walter Scott Pavilion is great at sunset. The rose gardens are spectacular. There is a quiet peace at the pavilion, but there's a history to the park as well. Some of the park rests on a former re-purposed cemetary. Trails in the wooded areas are pleasant. There are gravel paths and some are paved. The entire park is very well-maintained and a great place for family picnics or quiet solo reflection and escape from the beehive of activity elsewhere in Denver. If you are visiting Denver, this is must-see.
