“Fun Free Tour with Delicious Treats”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2012

Visited on Dec 22 with my entire family - adults and kids. The tour lasts 30 minutes and includes a short video on the history of the 90 year old local company, a view into the room where they make all the candy with commentary from a tour guide, a walk down a hallway showing pictures and more history, and a look into the area where they hand package all the treats. At the end of the tour we received a full size nutmeg flavored candy cane. Of course the tour ends in the shop. No one can resist all the delicious and visually stunning treats! Everyone we encountered was very friendly. I learned you can also book kids bday parties there as well. Have fun!

“Good family fun!”

Great fun! Free factory tours on the half hour detailing step by step how the candy is entirely handmade. Free samples at the end. The gift shop is beautiful filled with many tempting treats.

“Short and 'Sweet'”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

The website states that the tour lasts about 30 min- which for the most part was correct. Everything was great, but BEWARE going in the afternoon during the week. We went and had to share our tour time with an Elementary School. It was horrible.
Our tour guide was less than helpful and educated about what was going on, but I still enjoyed it very much and will go back. They had large windows that actually looked into the factory. They also have video camera's placed throughout the factory floor and you were able to see people working in different sections. The gift shop was really nice with items priced at many appropriate levels.
I will continue to take out of town guests to Hammond Candy Factory.

“little disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

There is no doubt that the candy is very good and the workers are knowledgable and friendly. The tour, however, was a little disappointing. We watch a short video and then stood in front of a window which separated us from the production floor. We watched a monitor above to see the different things that were happening in the room. It is great that the family lets us in the factory at all. But, as far as a tour goes, it was more like an exhibit.

The factory store was not one in which to find bargains.
