Went twice. First time the service was awesome. The second time it was ok. Not sure if it's a restaurant or a bar with all the tables squeezed into the space.

This is part of the Brown Palace. We went on the advice of a friend to see the Christmas decorations and were told to have lunch at the Ship Tavern. We decided to have a later lunch to miss crowds..... we ordered a burger, a sandwich and a bowl of soup... nothing hard..... and it took 1 1/2 hours to get our food!! It wasn't even busy! Our waiter was awesome, and he doesn't cook the food, but just WAY too slow. Food was decent, but the reuben was really just a pastrami sandwich, no sauerkraut, a very tiny slice of cheese, and no thousand island dressing. .... but it was a good sandwich....... Not sure if I would go back...... expensive.... slow service.....I hate to quit after just one time....but in this case, I might make an exception....and not go back.

This Tavern is part of The Brown Palace.
We visited this bar on our first night and shared a steak meal, which was excellent.
The surroundings are lively, charming and tasteful and the prices of the drinks aren't too expensive considering the bar is in a 5 star hotel.

We ate at the restaurant during our stay at The Brown Palace. It was on a Saturday afternoon in between lunch and dinner. The cocktail menu offerred a bit for everyone and prices ranged from $10-$12. Overall I was not impressed with the appetizer as it provided very basic options you would find in any restaurant. Service was great and the restaurant had minimum TV's so you could watch if you desired but were not a major focus of the venue.

The Prime Rib was very good, but the noise level a little high. We were happy that we had managed to reserve a table in the corner.
