“A bit of Paris”
Reviewed August 23, 2013 via mobile

Bistro Vendome is a lovely French restaurant right in the middle of the hot Larimer Square area. The food presentation is beautiful & tastes as good as it looks. The staff is very accommodating - the restaurant itself is quite noisy but they were able to seat us in a quieter area so we were able to talk.

“Larimer Square at its (almost) best”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

But for halibut that was served a tad overcooked, the meal was perfect. There were apologies for the fish and dessert was offered as mitigation. Aside from that one oversight, the experience was overall, great.

“Absolutely delightful!”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Arrived after the bulk of the brunch crowd. Quickly seated as a table of 5. Sat outside in the courtyard on a perfect Denver afternoon. Had sensational French burgundy by the glass. The croque Monsieur was delicious - my 8 year old loved it. My five year old got a waffle and ate every bit. My 11 year old had a hamburger with a fried egg and onion jam and would like all of his burgers to be ,add that way, thank you. We started with the cheese plate and mussels. Half of the mussels were not open which was disappointing because I wanted a full bowl! They were great and the broth had a wonderful, rich flavor. I had the chicken salad croissant and it had pears in it which was a delicious addition. The side salad was perfectly dressed and had just the right amount of pepper. The atmosphere was divine. Small courtyard - quiet, flowers in bloom, no bugs. Larimer is a busy street but this was off the main drag tucked behind a street facing building. The inside looked equally charming as well. I have never been to Paris but if its like bistro vendome then I am moving there tomorrow! Highly recommend this place!

“Wonderful experience”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Really, really wonderful restaurant on Larimer Street in downtown Denver. Great menu, great food and excellent but not overly-solicitous service.

Tables are close together and a little crowded so if you're looking for more space, this may not be your space. But if you're looking for a true bistro feel, solid noise level and general enthusiasm by the patrons, hurry and make a reservations.
