We were blown away by Barolo Grill in all respects! The waiter was extraordinary both for service and his knowledge of the food. This probably reflects the fact that the owner takes his staff each year to the region of Italy from which this cuisine hails! His recommendations were all excellent. Everything we ate was outstanding from beef tenderloin to pasta to lamb. The sauces were delicious and delicate. The artichoke appetizer, soup, and salad all memorable. We even loved the breadsticks and the dipping sauce accompanying them. The plating of the food was appealing. In Chicago, a meal such as this would break the bank. It wasn't inexpensive but it wasn't so expensive that one wouldn't go here on a regular basis or for special occasions. A real find.............We did see some children here, but it isn't really a restaurant I would go to with kids. Run don't walk!

Went for the wine list which is amazing. The staff was incredibly good & very knowledgeable. Knew the menu & ingredients very well. Enjoyed the lobster risotto. Rich tastes of succulent lobster in every bite. I did not have any, but the salads looked amazing. I will return sooner rather than later.

I had dinner there with friends from work. It was a great meal - again consistent service, creative menu, quality food, and a perfect atmosphere. I am amazed frankly that this restaurant is not rated higher on this site, Trip Advisor, especially since there are many restaurants that should not be so classified against an institution like this (really snooze and Steve's snapping dogs - embarrassing).

Anyway, for apps we had macaroni souffle and a slightly fried dish like calamari but with other seafood also, both tops, the souffle is so rich but perfectly yummy. For main courses, pasta dishes of varying types, I had black pasta with seafood which was good but not great, but interesting enough. Another of us had risotto which she loved and another the gnocchi too with was great. We were all too full for dessert.

Others have spoken about the wine list, it is huge and the wine recommended was perfect for the meal and the others at the table.

Service was again perfect, not obtrusive but a quite well trained staff of people who love food and are proud to serve it.

The room is tops and well decorated, only adding to the atmosphere.

Interestingly, we were there on a Saturday night, and about 6 tables were filled with a who's who of Denver power brokers and their guests, well recognizable. So this place must continually be doing something right.

I love it.
