Based on Tripadvisor reviews (and also reviews in the magazine 5280) we ate at Bastien's on Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, the food and service were not worth half the price. The fried shrimp was overcooked and the batter did not stick to the shrimp. The sugar steak was oversweet, though that may be a matter of taste. The vegetables were limp, and the twice baked potato must have been sitting for several hours before it was reheated. The wait staff was slovenly in dress and most were unfamiliar with their jobs. Management should have been pitching in, since the restaurant appeared understaffed, but we did not see any sign of them. Maybe we just hit a bad night, but we won't be trying again.
