Description: The menus at Tamayo offer a modern interpretation of authentic Mexican food with recipes created by critically acclaimed Chef/Owner Richard Sandoval at his Maya Restaurant in New York City. Our warm decor is spectacular with amber & coral colored walls featuring exquisite artwork that includes silver encrusted toucans, silver and volcanic rock guacamole bowls & Mayan masks to keep a watchful eye over the restaurant. Tamayo is truly a unique dining experience for intimate business luncheons, dinners, social events and large celebrations as well.

“One of our favs: Excellent”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

VERY creative menu; flavorful but most items not too hot. Soups are to die for...butternut squash soup one of the best you'll ever have.
Sauces are a riot of flavors..you'll savor every bite.
We live in the area and are blessed with many fine restaurants and this is one we never miss.
Tamalas for an app should not be missed.
Margys on the high side but high in quality.
Excellent service; waiter knew the menu inside and out.
If Mahi/Mahi on menu, order ASAP.

Had some very nice food here. Inventive Mexican dishes, good guacamole and ceviche here as well. Nice drinks and great service.

“Not a fan”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

They had me at bacon guacamole... but when it came, it was too spicy (read: FUEGO) to eat. I sprung for the beef skewers - which I was excited about (I mean, if they're $25, they have to be good, right?) Nope. Flavorless. Really. I rarely have a meal that I thoroughly do not enjoy... and never want to admit to my husband that I didn't like it (especially when it's costing us $100) -- but this might be that rare occasion. Sidenote: my husband got pork tenderloin and loved it.

“Mexican hideaway”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Not your typical Mexican restaurant. Very modern twist on Mexican dishes. Great selection of tequila. Have your party order several to have your own tasting party.

“Great Expensive High-End Mexican Food”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

It's the "in" spot for yuppies. Always crowded. The place to be seen. The food is very good, but not large portions. It caters to a younger crowd. They have their own twist on southwest cuisine, which is interesting.
