Description: Since 1978, Jerusalem Restaurant has created an environment where good food is enjoyed in good company. Indulge in sensational desserts prepared by our kitchen. Or enjoy mouth watering Lamb Shanks that literally falls off the bone. At Jerusalem Restaurant we pride ourselves on offering our guests genuine hospitality with a casual environment that's perfect for any occasion. It's a "home away from home" for those that are familiar with Falafel and Gyros. We look forward to serving you again and again and we thank our "regulars" from the bottom of our hearts! Without you all, we would be nothing.

I've been to Jerusalem a few times and have been satisfied each time. I can see where the previous reveiwer might think it is small/cramped inside. It's definitely not a chain restaurant and so you are eating in a 'recycled' building - but they do a good job of trying to create an environment that reflects the origination of the food. It is small inside, but the other side of the restaurant is open with open seating (for warmer months) and there's an outdoor area as well. I have been quite satisfied with the food. The pita bread is homemade, so not so thick as you'd buy in a store. I've had the gyro, swarma, hummus and falafel sandwich - all were very good. The prices are great - you can get just the sandwich for $4.50 or you can get a plate which is more of a meal for $8 or so. I like the option of just the sandwich - it's just the right amount with a hummus appetizer.

Great hours. Great food. Great place. Love the vegetarian combo plate, but have tried many others and enjoyed them all, especially the gyro plate.

I wanted to like this restaurant because of its proximity to DU, but I was very disappointed. I did not like how the restaurant was cramped, slightly dirty, and dingy, but our disappointment was more in the food. The Gyro and Chicken Shawarma were both terrible! The chicken was incredibly overcooked, as though it had been reheated days in a row. The taste of onion overpowered everything, and the wraps were both soggy and otherwise bland messes. We had to go eat something else just to get the bad taste our of our mouths. Also, the service was slow and unfriendly, and our waters were never refilled. Certainly will not go back!

This is the Jerusalem Restaurant, run by Ethiopian women, that serves Mediterranean food. We had a party of 11. Service was great, even for a party that big. Food was good. The Gyros are big! Go hungry. Hummus was good too.
