We were expecting a quality hotel since J.W. Marriott is a top brand for the Marriott chain, but we were surprised by the degree of prefection at this property. Well trained staffs are becoming way too few, so this well trained staff was a great and pleasant surprise! The property itself is first class has you would expect. Our room was well appointed and comfortable with the usual amenities, in-room coffee, Sunday Denver Post on the door in the morning, fabulous free standing, glass enclosed shower in the marble bath. Best of all, the room was as quiet as a tomb! No, best of all was the polite and friendly staff. It made it a pleasure to tip! Located right in the middle of Cherry Creek, it is well located for shopping and dinning. North is next door, Elway's is a block away and a half dozen great restaurants in the area within walking distance. Downtown is about a fifteen minute drive. We got a weekend rate of $189, which seems to be the going weekend rate for luxe in Denver.

I always feel welcome and very comfortable at this hotel! The staff is extremely friendly and efficient, the location unbeatable. It is a pleasure to be in the center of Cherry Creek in Denver, CO. with so many great restaurants , shops and places to walk and enjoy. With recommendations from the hotel, there is plenty to do and many choices for all. The accomodations are beautiful, comfy beds and bed linens! I love the hotel restaurant and bar and the outdoor firepit is perfect for reading the morning paper with my coffee or enjoying a glass of wine at the end of the day.

Location, Location, Location! Everything is a stroll away from the front door. Shopping, dining and entertainment. The hotel is very nicely appointed, and the staff are top-notch. We stayed on the Concierge level on a special rate package. Our room was very nice, the views from the top floor rooms are great...if you are on the west side that is.

One area for suggested improvement would be for the Concierge Lounge attendants to mix the complimentary adult beverages for the clientele. I mean, I can pour my own wine and beer, but not everyone knows how to make a perfect martini, do they?

One hotel/motel pet-peeves here: Why can't people close their room doors more quietly??? Good grief man, the door closers are so strong that they will knock you off your feet if you aren't careful, but I am so [--] sick of people letting their doors slam behind them. The tremors nearly knock the pictures off of the walls, and the noise??? Come on!!! NEWSFLASH!!! You aren't the only person on the planet!!!

We had no issues with Valet, but after reading other reviews, I can see how this could get out of hand at busy times. Just chill out and let the guys do their job. I assure you that they desire to please!

Restaurants that are "must-try" destinations are Brio, Elway's and Duffy's Cherry Cricket.

The worest valet parking service that I've ever experienced. The attendent damaged my car key & the hotel never replace it. The hotel managers are not helping at all.

I recently was a guest at the JW during a very busy time of year. I enjoyed my stay, and found the staff to be wonderful as always. The problems that have been mentioned are not a result of the valet employees of the JW. While I will admit it does take a bit of time to get my car, the valet always makes an effort to get my car in a very timely fashion. The bar at the JW as well as the restaurant are almost always very busy. This contributes to the valet delay. They are understaffed in that department. I have always found the gentlemen working the valet station to be just that. Gentlemen. I was warned when checking in to allow them 15 minutes to get my vehicle. I did just that, and allowed myself that extra time. Not an issue for me...I will return.

While I did not stay at the hotel, we did take our grandchilden to the Sunday Brunch where kids wearing pjs eat free. The staff was wonderful-all wearing pjs. The "kids" room was staffed with a very energetic staffer who we periodically saw chasing a short escapee. The restaurant was adorned with pillows and sheets. All in all, a very fun morning.
