In Denver, I expect a place to have solid prices and excellent food. There's many places that fulfill those criteria. The Kitchen is just too pricey for the market and doesn't deliver value versus the competition.

Group of ten. The menu offered a wide selection, and we enjoyed wine, soup, salads, entrees, and dessert. Saturday night, full restaurant, service a little slow, but not abusively so. I am looking forward to our next trip to Denver and the Denver Kitchen.

The draft beer selection is not long but all interesting beers you want to drink. We had the tomato soup and curry chicken salad, the were both excellent. The bar staff was very good. Will visit again next year.

We dined mid-afternoon at the Kitchen in Denver as a group of four adults and two children in high chairs. The Kitchen makes a point of using farm fresh local ingredients and it shows in their food. We ate at the original Kitchen in Boulder several years ago and their Denver location in Lower Downtown (LoDo) loses nothing for being in the city. The decor is minimalist modern which fits the emphasis on food preparation and not pretension. The menu features items of varying sizes and sharing is encouraged. We liked being able to experiment by sampling things we would not have ordered as a full meal. The truffled fries stand out and you should try them along with the rest of your meal. The wine list was not long but had some excellent choices albeit at higher than normal mark ups. Service was very friendly which was much appreciated with two small children to satisfy. We will surely return to the Kitchen again.

I was excited to go to lunch at The Kitchen, having tried their food at a gourmet experience at a private home. The atmosphere is fun, very slick and modern. But my troubles started at the menu (I should have left) - not enough variety for lunch at least, with very "granola-ish" offerings or just plain sandwiches and expensive for what it is. I was disappointed and ordered something that ended up tasting ok, but did not understand the hyped up reviews.
