My stay here would have been fine (except for the reeking smell of stale cigarettes on the floor I was on, 3) except for the dozen of Latino children racing up and down the hall. When I contacted the front desk, the girl there was very nice and polite, but informed me that though she'd received more than one complaint about the kids she couldn't leave the front desk to resolve the situation because she was the only person on-duty. Not only is that not safe for her, but it left all of us on the 3rd floor to listen to the Mexican Olympics til late.

This may have been one of the dirtiest hotels I have stayed in. We were on hour 12 of an 18 hour tip and very tired. We checked in at about 9:00pm. The desk clerk was disheveled and seemed like she would rather have been anywhere else. She was nice though. The lobby carpets were dirty, walls banged up, tile floors scummy looking. Room 215 had nice looking beds but both beds had hair in the sheets, one giant glob of black hair. She was going to change our room but we were already unpacked so she brought clean sheets. The towels were clean but on their last legs, the carpets were pretty dirty. The bed was comfortable after we remade it. I live on a farm and am no germaphobe, but this place creeped me out. Breakfast consisted of some tang like juice, oatmeal, cheerios, some prepackaged pasteries and 2 slice of white bread wrapped in plastic wrap. I have heard how nice Microtel hotels were supposed to be. This was my first and last stay with a Microtel.

We try to ensure that our cleaning staff checks to make sure that the new linens are free of hair and other debris before making the beds with them! This hotel is in the airport hotel area, just a few minutes from DIA and the rental car locations. The room was large, with extremely comfortable beds. There was a desk to work at with excellent Internet connection. Also a large-screen TV with many cable or satellite channels. The breakfast was continental (no hot food), but several choices, and it opened at 4:00 am! It was really an executive-type room -- much nicer than I expected, considering this was the least-expensive hotel we could find near the airport. There are several nice casual restaurants nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We've stayed here many, many times & it's an average hotel w/ average ammenities. Usually the employees are courteous, helpful & professional. However, this time the staff member (nametag said Alyssa) on breakfast/check out duty on Sept. 24 was NASTY! There were no napkins in the food area and hardly any food. When we asked her to replenish the coffee and oatmeal, you would've thought it was going to kill her. Then upon check out, she did not offer me a receipt. Once again, when I asked her, she did nothing but give me attitude! If you don't like your job Alyssa, you shouldn't be working there. And BTW, in these hard times, you should be grateful you have a job! I hope Microtel will address what I believe is an isolated employee problem.

The pillows were the only issue for this hotel or it would be a definite 5 star. The pillows were so thick/fluffy I had a horrible nigh sleep, ended up not using one and woke up with a sore neck. Please get thinner pillows!
