Our family booked this brand new property for 2 nights over New Years. What a pleasant surprise! This place is absolutely stunning--the design is somewhat Euro/Scandinavian modern with some Colorado details such as dramatically up-lit (although a little stark) aspen tree trunks, and rippling waterfall/stream elements. This combined with the open atrium interior is really quite striking.

We had a 2-room suite on the 17th (top) floor, which afforded a beautiful view of the D & F tower and fireworks on the mall. The furnishings are all 1st rate, and the bed was great. 2 large LG flat screens with built-in external inputs (though not HD) completed the package.

The staff was universally excellent, and seemed genuinely eager to help, and very proud of their new property; I hope this pride will continue beyond the initial honeymoon!

The inside pool was small, but nice. It's a saline pool, which took some getting used to for our kids. The levels of chemicals were also a little extreme, and this combined with some rough textures on the pool walls led to some significant skin irritation; I can only assume that this will be fine-tuned going forward. On the other hand the pool deck surroundings seemed a little lacking in texture--one of our kids slipped and fell (not hurt badly), and we witnessed another adult slip and hit his head, actually appearing to briefly lose consciousness (!)....be careful!

The exercise room was fairly small, but was outfitted with beautiful new machines: ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bike, (all with built-in tvs), as well as more unusual items such as fitness balls, various weights of medicine balls, etc.)

The free breakfast buffet was average, but fine with a nice selection of items for their omelet station. We didn't dine at the restaurant, or hit the bar, but the room service menu looked attractive (although pricey).

Our only gripe was one we've had at similar properties; the only parking option for the property is a valet garage that runs about $28/night (before tips of course). Since this wasn't disclosed prior to arrival we were kind of forced into going along, since the only parking area for check-in is right there where the valet and porters are waiting to whisk you away. We probably would have done it anyway, since street/lot parking 1 block away from the 16th street mall is a problem either way, but it would have been nice to have been informed prior to our arrival.

After you drop your car you actually enter a small "lobby" on the 1st floor that is really only an elevator waiting area. The front desk is on the 4th floor, so the hotel doesn't really have a street-level entrance which reflects how nice the rest of the property is.

One other advisory; the front of the hotel sits right across the street from a "gentlemen's club". We didn't have any problems, and it doesn't appear too obvious or seedy, but just in case you have older kids who might ask questions you might want to be prepared! Our kids were too excited about everything else to even notice.

Minor quibbles aside, this is easily one of the top properties we've experienced in the downtown area, or anywhere on the Front Range for that matter. We'll definitely be back and suggest you check it out also!

We stayed in this brand new hotel for new years eve! Saw the fireworks from our suite window. It is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. Good breakfast, though no waffles, but great omelets. Pool is good, if a little small, and no hot tub. Near to everything!
