I have been riding this path literally for DECADES. Denver has done an incredible job creating and maintaining the bike path system. You can get to popular places in Denver VERY QUICKLY on a bicycle with the entirely off street path. Unfortunately, the system is a victim of its success... it gets very crowded on nice weekend days. So go early (6-7AM) to avoid the crowds.

Also, if you are visiting Denver and want to access the Cherry Creek bike path, look into Staybridge Suites 4220 East Virginia Ave in Glendale, CO which is located directly on the bike path... you literally walk out the front door and onto the path.... very convenient. A quick rider can be downtown in about 20-30 minutes.

Went for a run. Convienent and close to downtown. It was nice that runners and bikers were separated.

This path starts well East of the city. It travels into the heart of the city and connects with other trails that will take you North towards Boulder or West into the mountains. It follows Cherry Creek, duh. Nice views and peaceful scenery. There are bike rental locations at multiple locations near the path. Once in the City, there are plenty of things to do or see, or eat. There are 1 or 2 underpasses where you may encounter homeless looking for hand outs. There very rarely is any trouble. Travel in pairs and keep moving. the trail is well policed. Plus it is heavily used by good people.

Not as good as getting out into the real world, but surprisingly enjoyable for an inner city path
