Not for the faint of heart. I've driven Glacier's Road to the Sun and Yellowstone's Bear Tooth Pass and Mt. Evans road is the scariest by far!! I'd recommend taking the smallest car that you can. 1. There aren't any guardrails. 2. Majority of drivers (tourists) aren't from mountainous states so they aren't used to high elevation roads. 3. It started raining and then snowing at the top, so not only were the roads narrow they were SLICK!! The sights are unforgetable so get there safely!!

Went up Mt Evans Sept 15 - Aspen leaves were changing and beautiful. Highest road in North America was very easy and safe to drive with great views. Echo Lake was a great place to eat lunch and relax. Would visit this area again and again.

Amazing view of the rockies, fact that you are so high and wild animals walking next to the car. Be aware of the diziness as the attitude is really high, if you have small children do not stay longer than half an hour on the summit, my 2yo started complaining of headache, first time in his life.

The highlight of our Denver trip. The white-knuckle drive is not for the faint of heart, but the views at the top are spectacular and well worth the sweaty palms. Protip...stay hydrated!

Definitely worth the drive. Lots of amazing scenery to take in. There were long horn sheep and lots of mountain goats. The walk to the top is easy and holds breath taking views.
