This was my second visit to the Denver Botanic Gardens and a different time of year from the first time several years ago. The gardens were beautiful each time.

What impressed me on this trip besides all the bamboo art was the Mordecai Children's Garden across from the Botanic Gardens but a part of the complex. Kids were having a wonderful, hand-on experience.

Also visited the gift shop but it's pretty pricey.

This is a beautiful place. Lots of "rooms" with various plants - some native, others not. This is a great place to spend an lazy afternoon. If you have recently moved to the area, it's an excellent place to see what grows well in Colorado.

Beautiful, relaxing, quiet gardens. It is hard to believe you are in a city. Well-landscaped attractive lay-out. Lovely coffee sitting outside in the autumn sunshine. Gift shop has interesting and quality goods at reasonable prices. The children's garden is a lovely idea. However, there is a lack of sign-posting to it from the main gardens. The entrance fee is worth the money and helps to support the gardens.

My wife and I have a membership at Chicago Botanic Garden. As luck would have it, the Denver gardens provide reciprocal admission. We visit Denver often to see our daughter and often enjoy a couple of hours strolling the grounds, looking the the flowers and plants in the greenhouses, or taking our grandson to the fun children's garden. Because of our membership in Chicago, we are admitted for no charge (we have visited many others gardens in the U.S. with our membership). FYI... here is a list of gardens that honor reciprocally.. https://www.chicagobotanic.org/downloads/membership/reciprocal_gardens.pdf
Enjoy!

I think this facility must have received a huge grant, or several because they have done some pretty expensive upgrades in the past few years. If you haven't been there for awhile you will want to come back . Enjoy the afternoon strolling around the beautiful grounds with a huge variety of plants, trees, flowers. The asian garden is impeccible. The indoor tropics is just like being in a jungle.
