We figured that visiting the botanic gardens in the fall would have been a pretty dreadful time to go, but we wanted to do something besides the zoo, so we went anyways. We were all pleasantly surprised.
This is one of the best botanic gardens I've been to, and there were beautiful plants and peaceful settings everywhere. I definitely recommend visiting the Denver Botanic Gardens if you visit Denver.

This place blew away any other botanic garden I have been to. The conservatory was amazing. The layout is great. We were able to go through it all in about 90 minutes or so.

What was so nice about this visit was that we had great weather and it was truly lovely walking the paths with beautiful plants and flowers, trees and bushes on either side. Some unusual bamboo sculptures were found throughout the gardens. What was disappointing is that so many plants were not labeled.

Visited this garden on September 16, it was very beautiful. Although much of the summer flowers were spent, the Japenese garden is lovely at any time of year and other areas were still striking.

Last year we saw BB King at the Denver Botanic Gardens outdoor concert - what a treat. And this year, we saw Ladysmith Black Mambazo. We take a blanket, wine and food and sit back in this grassy venue and soak up summer evenings. The Botanic Gardens has some many nooks that orchid lovers, Japanese tea garden lovers, tropical rain forest fans - well, everyone - can find a spot that has special appeal. We take our pre-school granddaughter and she loves it. A few years ago, the Henry Moore exhibit was creatively mounted and it was stunning. Check out the Gardens and see what's in bloom - and what's in the gift shop!
