If you like the railroad you'll love this place. When I was there the price of admission was a donation, Lots to see.

“Outstanding surprise auto museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2012

The Forney Transportation museum is underated by a wide margin. They have over a hundred cars from the late 1800's and early 1900's plus lots of old motorcycles and bicycles. They have a Model T we could sit in, what a special treat. They have one of the first motorcycles with a very unique engine. They have a very large snow removal train with blades out front bigger than me. Parking was free, the museum was very economical, and easy to get too. In all, it has lots of very unique vehicles with lots of good write-ups on each one. One convertible once owned by Amelia Earhart had seats that pulled out from the side. They also have lots of other types of vehicles.

“It a great trip back in time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

You can't see a Big Boy many place but Forney has one. It is massive and a must see if you love trains! The cars are beautiful, it really takes you back in time. I love how they have the wax figures with period dress with the cars.

They have Amelia Earhart's Gold Bug Kissel, it's something to see.

If you are a car/train enthusiast you have to go.

“More than just old cars”

It is about the progression of mechanized transportation in the last century. That includes rail and air transportation. Photography is permitted. Well worth the visit.

“Hidden Gem!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2012

My son is VERY into trains so we headed over to the Forney Museum! It was interesting & provided a few things for younger children to do in the rear of the gift shop. The only draw backs were 1. The price...$18 bucks for my 3 year old, his Grandmother & myself & 2. You can't touch the trains or climb in or on them. Otherwise a fun experience for a train fanatic!
