Description: Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. There should be a seamless bond between the elements and experience, which stimulates the senses and draws people in. Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own. At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!

“Delicious and unique breakfast!”
Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

We visited Root Down on a recommendation from some Denver-based friends. We couldn't have been more pleased. We did have a reservation, which I highly recommend, as the place is small and apparently always crowded with long waits. We got right in at our reservation time, however. The service was very quick, and the food delicious. I enjoyed the unique twists that they put on classic dishes (for example, quinoa English muffins used for eggs Benedict). I would highly recommend!

“An exceptional meal, door to door”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Experience started off well with complimentary valet parking. Group of seven, including a vegan, a vegetarian, and several carnivores. Excellent and unique drinks, very good wine. Starters and small plates unique and well-prepared. Beet and other salads outstanding. Raves about the entrees, including squash risotto, veggie sliders, 56-hour ribs, and pork loin. The desserts were excellent - the croissant bread pudding, the coconut ice cream, the chocolate torte, and the moscato. The server was cordial (without being syrupy), knowledgeable about drinks, wine, and food, and timely. It's been some time since I enjoyed a meal this much! We look forward to our next visit to Denver and Root Down.

“Ok but very expensive”
Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

This is one of those trendy restaurants. The food was good but expensive. The wait staff was very attentive. For the cost it is not worth it in my opinion. I would rather go to a less expensive place. The location is difficult to find for a non local. It seemed small and not a lot of space to move around. Too trendy for me.

“Great service, superior food”
Reviewed December 17, 2013

This is simply a MUST VISIT restaurant when in Denver. The setting is unique and the summer view of the entire downtown area is SO wonderful. Our food left us wanting to come back again and again. The entrees were great, but we really enjoyed the starter dishes even more. Unfortunately, we did not leave room for dessert!!!

“Outstanding! Again and Again for dinner and now brunch!”
Reviewed December 15, 2013 via mobile

My girlfriend and I frequent root down for dinner and this morning we tried their brunch. Talk about taking us to the stratosphere.
The services were impeccable and the preparation by the kitchen staff was stunning. We enjoyed the breakfast burrito and the egg sandwich on a croissant. It was all expertly prepared. Such a treat as it always is.
