Description: Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. There should be a seamless bond between the elements and experience, which stimulates the senses and draws people in. Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own. At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!

“Very cool!”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

I really like this restaurant. Interesting food. Good wine list. Great beers. Great vibe. The service we received from Bill who looked after us in the private room was absolutely first class. Well worth checking out for Denver first timers like me! I'd say you'd need a reservation as this restaurant is very popular...

“Great brunch!!!”
Reviewed October 27, 2013 via mobile

We enjoyed everything about Root Down. Food was delicious, service was wonderful, and they were very accommodating for our party of 10. I really liked the lamb burger with sweet potato fries. Other favorites were the veggie burgers, pancakes, and fried egg sandwich. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!!

“Excellent veggie sliders, average risotto”
Reviewed October 20, 2013 via mobile

This was our second time at Root Down. We were not very hungry and wanted something small. We started with the veggie sliders: they were superb! Juicy and properly prepared, with a delicious spicy mustard on the side. We also had a pumpkin risotto that was just OK. No specific flavor stood out as if something would be missing. The excellent service and the sliders alone would have made this meal outstanding.

“Delicious and fun!”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

Happened to be in Denver for just one evening and SO glad someone recommended Root Down.
Our server was awesome and I sat with a dear friend catching up for 3 hours enjoying appetizers, drinks and eventually one main course that we shared. Lovely fun decor, clearly the chef/owner takes a lot of pride in his restaurant and in the environment and is using local food whenever possible. Truly it was one of the best meals, in a very relaxed environment and we got to sit outside which was a treat as well. You must check out the funny bathroom decor as well. WIll definitely go back when I am back in Denver and you should too!
