Very nice and open facility with lots to see. Good video with Harrison Ford showing the Rockys in all their splendor. Plenty of exhibits and allows you to get up close and personal with many fantastic examples of new and old aircraft technology

“Excellent little air museum.”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

My husband is a history buff with airplanes being his "idols". We have travelled extensively just to visit air museums. What a treat for him to visit this air museum on his birthday. He loved it and in fact he even saw some airplanes he had never seen (a jetwing and the B1 Lancer). It has a very nice representation of planes, there is an 8 minute Harrison Ford movie that is phenomenal and there was a special exhibition of world war I art (I think by Dietz) that blew my husband and 15 year old son away.

There are volunteers sprinkled all throughout the museum whose passion exudes from every pore of their body and they love to let you in on all the wonderful exhibits and areas.

It was rewarding to see the joy in my husband/sons face as they toured the museum and so amazing we had discovered this little gem in Colorado by accident.

Well worth the visit and money.

“Under construction, but still worthwhile”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

First of all, I should point out that we went to this museum at a time of reorganization. Apparently there was a big event coming up, so not everything seemed to be in its proper place. However, it was still a great experience. The airplanes were especially wonderful, and you could get up nice and close to them. The Star Wars X-Wing fighter signed by the likes of Kenny Baker (R2D2), David Prowse (Vader), and Peter Mayhew (Chewie) was especially cool. I'm not as into outer space as I am into airplanes, but the space exhibits were educational and extensive, focusing on Colorado's large role in the country's various programs. Kids will love this place!

“A labor of love”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Other than the fact that our 2-year-old grandson liked it, I didn't know what to expect when we went here. It was a lot better than I thought it would be. The entire enterprise is run by volunteers, and how much they care about it shines through everywhere. As a former worker in aerospace I appreciated the accuracy of the information on their signs and the help they offer so generously in learning more. If you're looking for an amusement park, this is definitely the wrong place for you -- it's basically a hangar full of planes. If you remember the last half century and are interested in the history of aviation then, don't miss this. As you wander through the exhibits you'll recall a lot and learn a lot more. The admission is reasonable, and the gift shop isn't a ripoff either. I wish our grandson had a longer attention span -- I could have spent hours in here!
