Had the rare pleasure of seeing a longitudinal perspective of VVG at North America's only exhibit of his work at the Denver Art Museum. From the audio guide to the arrangement with complimentary paintings by VVG contemporaries, the emphasis was on his evolution and acquired skills leading to the final years of successful personal expression. And how nice to come out of the landscapes of grasses and butterflies to find the samples from the permanent collection of Western Art and their treatment of prairie grasses. Exquisite. Then a stroll to hear a discussion with Carlos Fresquez discussing two of his artworks and a chance to crate our own masterpieces at the Paint Studio, we left enlivened and like children carrying our art work home on a windy day. All around great Museum experience from staff to exhibit!
