I visited in late November, and was pleased how many people were attending- many were repeat visitors. The zoo was much bigger than anticipated, and took about 4 hours to see everything. I never knew so many animals existed. Some were ones you don't normally see. I arrived about 10am, and was able to view most of the animals. There is lots of information about the animals near their areas, and several programs where the zoo keepers interact with the animals. I watched one where they worked with the lions that was interesting. Some of the exhibits had more than one viewing area- for example you could look at the animals outside, then go inside and view from the animals closer up behind glass. There were lot's of young kids at the zoo when I went, and none appeared to be bored. The zoo is over 100 years old, but it looks like they keep on making improvements. They are working on an expanded Asian animal area, part of a 10-year plan to upgrade the various areas, vegetation etc. although the current version looks great.
