“Top 5”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

I have been to multiple Zoos and the Denver Zoo is definitely one of my top 5 favorites. It is not so spread out that it requires a large amount of walking, and every time I have gone there are always a handful of animals out in their exhibits and active. The volunteer staff are educated and available for questions. In the winter they have Denver Zoo lights. They decorate the Zoo with tons of Christmas lights and decorations. They keep the indoor exhibits open. The cost of ticket is the same as daytime admission, but the Denver Zoo lights ticket is only valid in the evening. You can not use your daytime ticket at night.

“Great Zoo”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

There is a reason why this zoo is consistently ranked at/near the best of the best. Great atmosphere, family friendly, wonderful variety of animals.

“Lovely Zoo”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

Our favorite part was the wild encounters- we got a close up watch of lion training/feeding in action. They rotate the exhibit so you can see different animals each day, too. The train and carousel are neat for the kids and the zoo is beautiful. The only improvement they could make is a bigger play area for the kiddos.

“Eh!”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

It was okay. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is MUCH better! It is overcrowded & the habitats seem very small for the number/size of animals they have in their enclosures. Also, snack bar personnel are non-friendly. Everything is over-priced.

“Denver Zoo Lights!”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

Seeing the zoo lit up in the darkness was very cool, although you don't get to see most of the animals because they're either sleeping or hiding away!

We did, however, get to see the Graffes in their indoor stable, that was pretty neat!

Overall, a good time with some really cool lighting arrangements!

:)
