Visit on a cool week day, if possible. The animals are more active and the visitors fewer. Isabelle likes the giraffes and the tigers, I'm more into the monkeys overhead on the ropes.

I attended a photo works shop on a rainy Saturday we went for 5 hours and barely saw much. The lunch was reasonable and GOOD. The zoo staff really cares with tips and help when you get lost. The way that food is laid out (hidden) makes for interesting viewing for both kids, adults and old folks like me

This is a nice zoo, perfect size for an afternoon trip with the family. The highlights are the komodo dragons and the new elephant exhibit. The orangutan even kissed my girls through the glass! We went in Oct and many of the snack areas were closed or did not have a full menu- be prepared.

It's a really nice zoo with lots of improvements from the last time I was there but the new elephant exhibit is not something I would think of as an upgrade. I could see the elephants better in their old setting and they were together. Now they were all in separate areas and all seemed very bored. Many of the animals were asleep while I was there and some exhibits only had one animal out so it seemed a little quiet. Bird house closed for some reason. Lots of little kids and their families enjoying the day so it was great for them.

Love the Denver Zoo. The new elephant exhibit is great and the zoo is clean and lots of fun for an afternoon, adults and children alike.
