“A venerable institution”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

The bookstore on lower downtown (LoDo) location on 16th street has been around for close to 20 years, but it looks and feels (in a good way) like an old fashioned, friendly, comfortable place to browse and buy books. I loved the nooks and comfortable seating, the staff recommendations, and the coffee area. Book lovers will spend hours in this place.

“Book-Lover's Paradise”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

If you love books and atmosphere, this is the place to be! My favorite location is in Lower Downtown Denver (LODO), in the historic restored Mercantile Building -1628 16th St. at Wynkoop St. Comfortable furnishings encourage browsing, informative reviews by staff intrigue, and a personality that beats all other competitors! We stop here yearly for reading material for our Rocky Mountain vacations, and it is hard to get out of the store in less than a couple hours. Love it, love it, love it!!!

“This will spoil you if you like bookstores!”
Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

I'll make this simple. I love this bookseller! I come every time I'm in Denver. Went to both the Colfax and 16th street locations this time. The surroundings are wonderful. The staff are friendly and helpful. Makes me never want to go to another national bookseller chain store again.

Colfax location parking is free for 2 hours. I made the mistake of being there right about 1130 AM. A few minutes later kids from the gigantic high school across the street invaded the place during their lunch periods. They are noisy, obnoxious, rude, taking over the place like it's THEIR playground. Very annoying. 16th Street location is near the end of the 16 Street Mall between Wynkoop and Wazee and has several pay parking options close by. Like any large city, downtown parking is not free but a lot cheaper than many cities. There are a lot of things to enjoy in the area, all in walking distance. Pay the max and stay all day. Probably $12-$15 for all day.

“Make sure you go here for a coffee and a browse”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

I would love to have the time to go to a bookstore like this once a week (and would probably spend a fortune on books in the process). This is what a bookstore should be like - full of book-lovers, totally relaxed, wonderful place. When in Denver, make sure you take the free shuttle and visit this place.
