For being a Days Inn on Colfax it was extremely expensive for what you got. First off they asked for a 100$ cash deposit that they never mentioned before in the confirmation email, so that started the troubles, being as I wasn't expecting to have to give a cash deposit. In the room the bed blankets were not clean, they had dry crusty stuff on them, I don't even want to know what it was. The bath towels and toilet paper and tissue were all like sand paper. I mean I wasn't expecting much out the hotel room, but it defiantly wasn't worth 160 dollars a night. They shouldn't even be more then 80 dollars a night. Also it was a pain to even get more toilet paper, they only had one in the room, and when we asked the front desk guy took forever to have to go get some from the basement. When we first pulled into the parking lot, we had a crack head already asking us for money before we even got out of the car. The wi-fi barely worked, and couldn't even get more then one bar of service.

Wanted a place to stay while seeing a concert at The Fillmore and found this on Kayak.com. Everything about the hotel was fine: staff, facility, room and amenities. Because it is across the street from two concert halls and bar/restaurant with outdoor seating is on the West side of the building, it can be a bit noisy in the evening. The in-room air-conditioner did a good job of drowning the outside noise out. Again, a good place to stay if you don't want to drive after seeing a show along Colfax Avenue. It has a small parking lot on the East side of building and the parking lot is fenced except for the entrance.

Room Tip: Can be noisy if a concert is in town. West side building gets noise from outdoor bar/restaurant.

Initially, we were going to give this hotel 4 stars but there was a mix up with our check out. We had asked what was the latest check out we could have and the nice girl on the desk said 12:30pm. We said we would do that and she said she would write a note. However, on our morning of leaving, we had two phone calls from the front desk asking when we would be leaving and two knocks on the door from the housekeeping staff! Maybe the communication needs improving here.
Apart from that, the location is really good and near lots of places to eat. The Capitol building was on the same street and you can easily walk to the 16th street mall. Even though we were on the main road, the traffic noise didn't bother us. We had a nice view from outside our room of the dome of the state Capitol. The room was a nice size with a desk and all the TV channels we like, there was also a bath tub. There is no coffee maker but you can call down anytime and the desk staff will make a pot for you free. The wifi is a bit temperamental in the rooms but works fine in the lobby.
A few other negatives were that there was no main light fitting, only lamps, and our room wasn't done by housekeeping until 4pm one of the days.
But, this is a good hotel if you are looking for something a bit cheaper in Denver.
