“Great stop on the scenic byway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

I love dogs so this place initially had me at its name. We stopped by while on a drive on the Highway of Legends. It was a great stop for some food, a couple drinks and great conversation. They have a wonderful patio that you can brings your 4 legged friends on. The staff was so friendly and provided great service. I'll always be sure to stop here when we are in the area.

Friendly atmosphere, good food. Always been busy every time I have visited. Good family atmosphere. Great place to gather for a beer and burger.

“Dog Bar Fan”

It is always a good day when we get to go to the Dog Bar. Mountain dining, atmosphere, and laid back awesomeness at its best!

“All in the location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

First things first. The Dog Bar at lunchtime on a pleasant September day is a good place to stop for a meal. The food - mostly at the burger end of the spectrum - does what it's supposed to do, and comes promptly. They serve draught Alaskan Amber beer, which counts for a lot. The scenery is very fine.

But it scores chiefly from being almost the only restaurant around in an isolated part of the state. Would you look at it in the same way if it were on the main drag in Boulder or Manitou Springs? That's why it gets three stars. We were very glad to see it, and content to have eaten there, but in gastronomical terms it didn't have us falling down in amazement.

This sounds a tad ungracious. If I were driving past it again I wouldn't hesitate to eat there.

“Lucky to live here”

Best place to hang out in the summer on the patio. Could easily spend hours on end just experiencing the great mountain atmosphere, not to mention the food and staff are A1!!
