Went in as a group of 9. We were seated promptly and drink order taken immediately.
Various dishes ordered: blacken grouper sandwich, Rueben sandwich, French dip, chicken fingers, etc.
Food came out all at the same time and hot. No food was left on a plate when we were done.
We are a local group and knew we would have good food with great service (our waitress was wonderful)

Driving through town and was starving, passed a copy of their menu on the main strip and thought it looked good. The atmosphere was great but the food not so much. My Husband ordered a burger cooked medium rare and received a burnt and very dry burger. The green chili was also very bland. Aside from the food, the atmosphere and the service was very good but unfortunately we would not return.

It was okay - not great, but then there does not seem to be any "fine" dining in Cripple Creek. We were disappointed in Cripple Creek as a whole. It's a pretty area but the town seems to be nothing but casinos and we don't gamble, so...

We always expect and get a good steak. This is a quiet place in a noisey town. It is located downstairs from the old Grand Hotel and Casino.

One of the features of casino marketing is an energy of noise and lights. Sadly, when they add a restaurant to the casino, most don't want you to lose that energy, and while their food is good, it's nearly impossible to talk to your friends.
Maggies is on the lower level of the Colorado Grande Casino, and once seated, there's not a hint of the high energy gambling going on upstairs. Every local we asked, told us it was THE place for a quiet meal in the casino area of Cripple Creek.
The menu is varied, and offers everything from seafood to fried chicken to burritos. The fried chicken, the seafood sampler platter, and the taco salad with chicken were all reported to be good, prepared fresh, and not over-seasoned.
The portions are generous, and the seafood platter would easily serve two. The plates all included vegetables prepared with hours of boiling.
If you stop by Maggies in the early afternoon, peruse their menu and prices, and then head off for a few hours at the tables; be prepared for higher prices, as they swap out menus for the dinner seatings, and the prices will have climbed a couple of dollars per entree. On the other hand, you can get some remarkably cheap breakfasts if you have anything left after the night.
