although the elevator is a bit cramped, they are very upfront about the space. Once you get off the elevator, there is plenty of room. Our tour guide seemed a bit odd, but very knowledgeable about the mine, and mining culture. Overall a very enjoyable trip and worth the 5-minute detour from cripple creek.

We were not going to go, until I read the reviews. Off season, no lines, no wait, room to park 30' RV. Got to see & hear the equipment work. Bring jacket, & camera & ear plugs (if you have sensitive ears). Don't bring a big purse. Don't go if you don't like confined space. Very educational & entertaining.

I like this place. If you like history and learning, this is the place. It's not too far from the heart of Canon City. The scenery was great. The mine was fun and informative. I hope to return again in the Spring.

This was a fun tour. I wasn't expecting them to operate the tools but they did. Go see it and the food was good too, especially the deep fried sweet corn.

So interesting and the tour guides are pretty fun. Fun for all ages as long as your no claustrophobic (sp?) Early engineering demonstrations.
