The conductor really knows his stuff! It was fun to see what's in my own backyard and learn about gold mining.

“Beautiful Views”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

Old fashioned steam engine that fascinated my grandchildren. My grandson stated that the one engine looked like Thomas the train. The guide chose my grand-daughter to pass around laminated pictures that went with his presentation. She was thrilled! The views were breathtaking and the information was thorough. What a contrast we saw between the old ways of mining and the new mining companies. Definitely worth the ride!

“Fun for kids and adults”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

History, nature, scenery, and fun all in one. It was a breeze to purchase our tickets and board the train, and each seat seemed to have great views. It was a good length of time aboard the train, we were provided with a good narrative of the local history, and saw some beautiful scenery. My 3 year old sons loved it, and my husband and I enjoyed it too.

“Short but sweet”
Reviewed August 29, 2012

Enjoyed the ride and the interesting facts. The conductor was very informative and showed pictures of the old town etc. For those with breathing problems, ride in the glass enclosed car, the coal smoke it hard to breath.
