I'm rating the room we stayed in, and have no knowledge of others. Tiny beyond belief. The bathroom, toilet and shower, was just way too small. One chair(no arms) for the two of us. No fridge. It was clean, and the cleaning folks did a good job. Given the size of the room, it would not have taken very long. The staff throughout the hotel and casino were polite and most helpful. The casino itself is nicely decorated and much more tasteful than others in downtown. Nice to have an attached four level parking garage(free). Our room had a great view of the garage and nothing else. I think better to stay in Colorado Springs and make the trip up and back.

We were able to overlook the old building. We call that quaint. We had a non-smoking room. Next door was a smoking room. Perhaps the building is so old the smoke infiltrated into our room? The room was small, and a bit uncomfortable because of noise. A bit pricey for what you get. The hotel was full and we could not get a different room. Old town, old hotel, not many choices.

We stayed at the Midnight Rose for Christmas and it was a great stay. Our room was a king non smoking with a view of Bennett Street. It was available on time and was clean and the bed was comfy! We had a flat screen TV and the room was a great value for our money! We also were given 10 percent off and vouchers for $5.50 for food each day. We really enjoyed our stay and will be returning in the future!

Room Tip: Ask for a window since some do not have windows

I’ve stayed at this hotel casino several times because they comped me. The rooms were nice and clean. There are three or four restaurants connected with this casino. I usually eat at Dynamite Dicks and the food is ok, nothing spectacular. I usually play video poker and really have never left with more than I came up with. They have some cool nickel progressive sequential video poker machines at the upstairs bar. One thing I noticed about this casino is that when somebody hits a pay-off on a video poker machine of $200.00 or more they hand pay it so the staff can get more tips. The drive is a bit far but when you’re looking to get away from the big city and just enjoy a bit of time back up in the hills of the Colorado Rockies you may enjoy spending some time at this casino hotel.

I compared all the hotels in Cripple Creek: prices, amenities, etc. My goal was to have a nice, all-inclusive getaway for my hubby's birthday. We arrived, checked in quickly, and had a very nice dinner at the JP McGills Pub (thank you Midnight Rose for the discount on our meals). We had a blast at the casinos, meandering through town as we pleased from one casino to another. We enjoyed the Pub at McGills so much that we went back to hang out and have a drink. Their waitresses were the best! Very excellent service, personable, and acted like they were glad we were there. We had a very clean queen-bed room (which overlooked the back of the building, but I was not there for the view, so I didn't care). It was extremely quiet although the hotel was completely booked. We had such a good time, and it was absolutely worth the money. We will definitely be back! Again, the McGills pub was probably the highlight of our stay...the food, service, and prices were all excellent.

The room was a bit on the small side but it was clean and in good condition. The bed was comfortable. The water got hot and didn't make me feel like a slip&slide. The video poker machines were a pleasant surprise because you didn't have to keep feeding them. The drink service was excellent, asked if the coffee was fresh and fellow said "If you can wait five minutes it will be." It was fresh and had a good flavor. Yeah, I knew it was fresh because I could smell it while it was brewing. Dynamite Dick's staff is really great for a casino/hotel restaurant. Cooks knew what they were doing, the food was hot and properly prepared. The menu had a good variety to select from.

We stayed 2 years ago (late on getting review in). Room was a little small, but for the price, it was worth it. We had fun gambling, drinking, and eating the entire evening. We would stay there again when we plan our next trip.
The only down side, is that they would not let you check in until the exact time they say. We rode a motorcycle all morning to get there and we wanted a place to put our luggage from our bike. So we just sat and waited. :(
