“Not too shabby!”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

My family went here to eat after a long day of traveling. This was our first night at Crested Butte, CO and we had never been there. The Avalanche is right next to the hotel (Lodge at Mountaineer Square) and the slopes. We had pizza and it was yummy!

“Good Food, Generous portions, Good Price!”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

The Avalance is a gem right on the base of Crested butte! It was one of the most reasonable meals that we had during our stay. With 4 adult meals, and 3 drinks, the tab was about $52 before tip. Most of our other dinners out with the same numbers were $70-$80 + tip! This was easy to walk to from our Hotel on the mountain, service was fast & attentive, and food was filling after a day of skiing, as well as hot and delicious!

“Fresh frozen”

Blah. Not great food. It all tasted freezer burned. Not what unwound expect for the price. Cute waitress though and very nice.

“Lackluster”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

This place could be sooo much more. They're loved by the locals - and it's a great scene for apres - but it's nothing special - the food is not unique or at all interesting - it's got SOOO much potential - why the owner doesn't run with it.... who knows.

This is a staple of everyday life in Mt. Crested Butte. Good grub and good service at reasonable prices. Great breakfast stop but get there early!!!
