I guess it was my own fault for not asking if they allowed dogs and small children here but they accept both. We wanted a QUIET anniversary get away from our neighborhood barking dogs and screaming kids and instead ended up at a place that had both. The rooms were very clean but small and the owners and staff were extremely nice but relaxing it was not. We were in room 4 which was right next to one of the lounges where there was a TV and DVD so after 10:00 I had to call the owners because the kids staying there were very noisy. Also, that room is next to the hot tub room so when it was heating up or someone was in it our whole room vibrated. Also, we had to close the bathroom door because we could hear the TV from the adjacent room as if it were in our room. The breakfast was yummy but because they have staggered guest seating you cannot sit and relax and chat with the other guests because you need to move for the next group. We also lost power in the bathroom and it took a while for them to come and get it turned back on. They say it happens once a year and of course it happened to us. Bottom line, if you don't want to be subjected to or are allergic to multiple barking dogs (there were 4 there) better not stay here. The owners did make it right and did not make us pay for our second night (the bed was also so uncomfortable I had to sleep on the floor) so they did take care of that.

Crested Butte is a perfect example of a mountain town .We don't ski so visiting Colorado towns in off season has become our passion. C.B. is so pretty and full of great restaurants. fun shops and plenty outdoor attractions to keep anyone busy. The town is the place to stay in during off ski season. We always use tripadvisor to check out where we will stay....as usual, the reviews were right....we went with #1 The Ruby.....LOVELY....all the other reviews before and after ours should be read, most if not all, were spot on!!!!!! Thanks Cassie, Deb and Allison, we had a great time. Please remember the Ruby is a b&b and therefor, you can hear other guests easier than a large hotel but the location and all the other pros outweigh the need to be a little more respectful of other guests.

From the moment we arrived, we felt that the staff were attuned to meeting our needs. Cassie was managing the B&B while the owners were away. Upon entry, we were treated to great walnut, cranberry and chocolate chip cookies and a bowl of mixed nuts. The common areas were very comfortable and a hot water tap provided water for the tea assortment. The staff made sure that our food allergies and dislikes were addressed. Breakfast was a wonderful yogurt and fruit parfait, Dutch apple pancakes, scrambled eggs with goat cheese and pine nuts and homemade cinnamon rolls. Flavored lattes and cappuccino were made to order. The rooms were comfortable although not very large and our king size mattress was rather soft. The complimentary bicycles were a nice touch as well as the manuka honey bath products. There were fresh flowers throughout and a vase of roses in our room.

Well...I have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before so this was a lovely first experience. I would stay here again if we came back. What is EXCELLENT is the sleep quality. We had the large two room suite upstairs so it was quiet (most of the time). A funny story, I do a radio show and heard voices which disturbed my concentration...I yelled, "Quiet!!"...thinking it was my kids...it was the kitchen and staff which is one of the only non quiet things just outside the upper suite. Most of the time you can tell they are trying to be quiet...

I LOVED the deluxe treatment...and not having to make my own reservations or call and price tours was lovely. The breakfasts were good...but even though I don't eat a lot of meat...I expected some...bacon..sausage...something!!! Very heavy on the eggs and I dislike eggs.... This was very clean and after the first couple days, my room was always cleaned and my sheets were changed half way through. I was disappointed the owners weren't there as many of the reviews spoke of the great conversation. Even so, we met a lot of nice people....

Adored the cookies...although coffee was not available 24/7 and it would have been nice if it was...the bikes were a big hit as well....by the third day...we felt like we were home..

Room Tip: I would do the two room suite on the top floor if you can....very private....

Overall, we had a great stay at this B&B. The room was quite small, but it was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff that were present were friendly and helpful. The only negative point that I would make is that most of the rooms are located right next to each other along one hallway. The doors and walls seem to be rather thin, as we could clearly hear people talking in the hallway. I make this point not because noise was a problem (it was actually a very quiet place), but simply because we felt as if we had to speak in subdued tones, keep the TV volume lower than normal, not make other noises, etc. so as not to disturb other guests. This may be a moderate inconvenience for guests who are looking for a bit more more privacy. However, overall this is a high quality B&B and we would certainly consider staying here again if we return to Crested Butte.

We are repeat guests at the Ruby, and our second visit was as wonderful as the first. The inn is warm, comfortable and impeccably kept. It's just a short walk to the shops and restaurants on Elk Avenue, and we used the Ruby's free townie bikes for a ride around Crested Butte.

The food and service are the real stars at the Ruby. The staff made us feel at home as soon as we walked in the door. They took extra time to help us become familiar with the town.

Breakfast is very good, with a nice variety of meals and terrific coffee. Everything is made fresh on site. The fresh-baked cinnamon rolls are not to be missed--it's like having dessert after breakfast!

We are delighted with the Ruby and look forward to more visits.
