First time in Crested Butte, loved the town and the Purple Mountain Lodge. Chris, Zoe and Makaylah are excellent hosts! Breakfast is amazing, all the restaurant/hiking info from Chris is very helpful, and the rooms are a great value for the quality and location (and free wi-fi for those of us who can't abandon our internet habits!). Will definitely be back next summer.

My husband and I were in town for a wedding and were recommended by our friends to stay at this B&B - Chris did not dissappoint. The only other B&B we stayed at was old, uncomfortable and with fruit for breakfast - This was no where near that experience. the rooms were clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing. The eggs, fruit parfait and homemade buscuits were delicious. We also loved Zoe and Makalya. All in all we would reccommend this to anyone who asks.

We spent a long weekend in Crested Butte and stayed two nights at Purple Mountain. Chris and the resident dogs were great hosts, full of ideas on hiking and biking trails, and dining and drinking establishments in town. The bed and breakfast featured awesome, comfy beds and a delicious breakfast. Cookies were available all day. The hot tub was lovely and the plastic wine glasses a thoughtful touch. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay here and would certainly stay here again. Cruiser bikes, including a tandem, really rounded out the stay.

Purple mountain B and B was just right. Chris was a gracious host and his place was comfortable on multiple levels. It really had a homey feel but wasnt weird like you can get occasionally with bed and breakfasts. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Chris was great at helping everyone go in the right direction based on there particular wants and abilities. For a couple it is the best value in Crested Butte.

Can't wait to return to this gem of a mountain town ... walking and biking surrounded by magnificent scenery. And this B&B can't be beat!

This is a terrific place to stay...the rooms are very comfortable, and the additional shared living room & deck (complete with hot-tub) made it feel like home. Chris, the innkeeper, was very knowledgable, and helped us quickly find the best places to hike and eat in town (we liked the Secret Stash for pizza & the Brick for beer). Taking Chris' advice we easily found the West Maroon Pass trail, which was filled with wildflowers, perfect for the photography project we were working on. On top of that, there was wonderful breakfast (my favorite was the fresh banana-pecan belgian waffles), and chocolate-chip-oatmeal almond cookies to snack on in the afternoon. I'd highly recommend this place for a casual, fun and relaxing place to stay.

Crested Butte was the first stop for my wife and I on our road trip honeymoon (other stops included Salida, Steamboat, and Park City). We originally planned to spend only 2 nights in CB, but fell in love with the town and had to stay another night. Our first two nights were spent at the Elk Mtn Lodge. It was OK, but nothing compared to Purple Mtn. Elk Mtn is much more of a hotel than a B&B, with 25 rooms. With only 5 rooms, Purple Mtn is much more of the B&B feel. The reasons we would stay at the Purple Mtn again: beautiful/comfortable/clean living area, comfy/clean room, excellent home cooked breakfast, great host (Chris), great location, bike washing station, fleet of cruiser bikes for guest use, competitive pricing, and more! We'll be back!
