Lovely, lovely place. Good food, good service... but it is the space, especially in the depths of winter, that is memorable. Definitely go.

Have been here several times and always a special treat. On last visit we were met on more than one occasion by the chef owner who has put together a magnificent menu.

If you see toothfish ( sea bass) on the menu do not hesitate ordering because it is phenomenal. Also do not worry about ordering an overfished species as the chef goes to great lengths making sure it is certified sustainable.

The scallop appetizer is also a good choice.

Service was outstanding and our waiter was very knowledgeable. Even found a wine selection which was not on the menu.

The restaurant has two seatings. 6:00 pm and 8:15 pm. And only seats 35 at any given time.

The meal at this very expensive, small restaurant was going along well until near the end.
The four of us had enjoyed the mussels,duck confit, scallops, rack of lamb,and duck breast
all superbly done and presented. I reminded the waitress we were celebrating my wife's
birthday and could they do something special. She responded they could put a candle on
any desert we paid for. Before we finished our coffee she placed the bill on the table
without my asking for it. I asked if we could order another souffle' She then said after
asking the chef/owner it would take 12 and one half minutes and there wasn't enough time.
Apparently they wanted the table for the next seating but were not fully booked. This was a rushed ending to what had been a delicious meal.

We had heard rave reviews of this restaurant and were excited to try it for our Christmas dinner. On approach, we weren't disappointed: the venue is absolutely adorable, especially under the twinkle of Christmas lights and a layers of snow and icicles hanging from the eaves.
But once inside, it was a bit confusing, as we 815PM sitting diners had to stand around, hovering over the 6PM diners who were finishing up. Rather unpleasant for all of us, I think, given the tiny space in which to wait.
The staff were extremely apologetic and sweet, trying their best to ready our tables for us. Unfortunately, our party of three was the last to be seated. To their credit, we were graciously offered a drink on the house for the inconvenience.
On to the food:after a complimentary amuse-bouche of the braised veal cheeks which was delicious, we ordered a plate of escargots to share as a starter. They arrived in a puff pastry case and were tasty, as snails go. Next, my duck breast was very,very good but my husband's veal porterhouse was nice but nothing special. My son's lamb was also good but,again, nothing truly amazing. We expected a bit more refinement and flavour for the hefty price tags on the entrees.
The wine list was extensive,and even though we fully expected to pay restaurant prices, we were still a bit put off by the huge mark-ups. We settled on a very nice mid range Meritage.
No dessert or coffee for us, as it was getting late. I would recommend the 6P sitting if you go. And I do recommend this place, they truly are a gem in the town,the service is as good as can be, but just be prepared for the inflated prices.

Soupcon far and away delivers the best dining experience in Colorado. Not only is it in Crested Butte, one of Colorado's most beautiful and charming mountain towns, but the restaurant itself is located in a wonderfully rustic log building with blue framed windows and doors tucked off Elk Avenue. The interior is intimate and cozy, the wait staff outstanding, and the food incomparable. Jason and his staff mix up the menu and consistently deliver the most exquisite food on the planet. Appetizers, entrees, and desserts all offer unique and tasty renditions, not to mention a wonderful wine list. Soupcon provides a memorable dining experience not to be missed.
