“Wonderful Ski Experience for the whole family”
Reviewed February 3, 2014 via mobile

Great snow, great variety of trails for all skills levels. Many activities for the children, and parts of the mountain have been set aside for children and beginner use. This allows for safer use for the highly skilled skiers as the beginners stay to designated areas. Friendly staff and great groomed runs in all skill levels. This is our 3rd. or 4th. trip and we always enjoy it. Highly recommend for all.

“Favorite Overall Ski Resort & Town!”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

Crested Butte is our overall favorite of all the ski resorts that we have skied over the years. One reason is that it is easy for our family to get there from Oklahoma whether driving or flying. The ski mountain is simply spectacular in all respects with lots of every kind of run from groomed greens and blues to terrifying double black diamonds and everything in between. There are plenty of choices for a family of every kind of run, including large ski parks with all the jumps! The views are wonderful in all directions. The mountain is well maintained and the restaurant facilities are excellent, well spaced out and easily accessed. There is one very special bar called the Ice Bar which is actually an outside bar topped with about three inches of ice. Very clever! The bartender Shelby is simply as good as it gets! The restaurant next to the Ice Bar is also an outstanding restaurant named Uley's Cabin. This is a wonderful white table cloth restaurant where you really want to take your time and enjoy the food, the wine and the view. Of course, you cannot discuss the mountain without pointing out that the town of Crested Butte is a true old mining town that works hard to maintain its old historical charm. No high-rise condos, chain restaurants or other signs of flat land civilization. All of the restaurants are local and unique. There is a perfect selection of restaurants, bars and shopping for a week long trip without duplication. Highly recommend Crested Butte! Especially the bartender Moose at both the Talk of the Town and the Avalanche bars!

“Perfect week”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

This was my first trip to Crested Butte and found it to be a very enjoyable experience. Although it was very cold (between -7 and -12 a few mornings) the weather couldn't have been better. The sun was out everyday, all day, with no clouds in sight and no wind. The resort got snow a few weeks before we arrived and they certainly could have used more, however, all of the trails were open and accessible. The personnel at this resort are AWESOME and they are what made the stay so enjoyable. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, especially the lift attendants.

We rented our ski equipment through Butte & Co., located right next to the slopes and they were absolutely wonderful. I travel with a large group and when we went to pick up our skis it was the smoothest check-in process I have ever experienced. I had some equipment issues (my fault, not their's) and they quickly resolved the problem.

The only reason I did not rate this place as Excellent was because I found the mountain to be a bit small for my liking. I am a blue/black skier and found the runs to be rather short (blue) or ladened with moguls (black), which I prefer to avoid. There seemed to be more of a variety of trails for the beginner (greens) or the advanced extreme skier (double blacks w/moguls). Don't get me wrong, we found several trails that we fell in love with off both the East River and Silver Queen lifts, but ended up skiing them repeatedly over the 5 days we were there. I would have preferred more of a variety. Would love to return here during the Summer or Fall.

“Great ski mountain!”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

This is our 2nd visit to Crested Butte and it has become our new favorite place to ski. Why? This mountain has ski runs for everyone--beginners to experts. The grooming is excellent and the snow is great! This is a great place to take the kids because the runs are wide and long! Wish we could go back more often!
