We've stayed at the Elk Mountain Lodge since we sold our house in Crested Butte several years ago. It has such a warm, friendly atmosphere, and we love the proximity to town!

We just go back from our stay in Crested Butte with our 6 and 8 year old sons. The Elk Mountain Lodge is right in the heart of Crested Butte, 2 blocks from the main drag (Elk Street) and right off the free shuttle route to the slopes. The lodge is a cool historic building with 19 rooms. This is GREAT - small enough that the guests socialize and the staff can give everyone the personal touch. They were GREAT with our kids, extremely helpful in helping us sort out various activities. Mamey (?) went the extra mile to make sure we were cared for (ski school, veggie meals, etc). Brian was a hoot to chat with about his CB experience, and Mike (the owner) was wonderful as well. Breakfasts were hearty and varied. Rooms were small, but very nice - clean, comfortable, everything you could want. Price was a little lower than other places we found. Highly recommended all around! We'll be back!

We stayed 3 nights at this beautiful Bed and Breakfast. We were in room #20, right at the top of the lodge. We had a balcony with an amazing view of the town and mountains. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious, with plenty of room for all of our ski gear. The feel of the whole place is so cozy and quaint...it's like a home away from home. We loved to come back in the evenings to have a hot chocolate (complimentary) and sit by the fire in the livingroom. Breakfast was served from 7:30-9:00am and was delicious and varied each morning. The staff and owner were all fabulous to talk to and a big help about the town itself and things to do and places to eat. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Crested Butte. It was a fantastic vacation!

The Elk Mountain lodge is my favorite place to stay in town when traveling to Crested Butte to ski. It's walking distance to the free mountain shuttle bus, all the restaurants and shopping. The lodge is historic, cozy and the staff is friendly and accommodating .

Crested Butte has been a winter weekend destination for a friend and I for the last 3 years. What brought us the first year, was the free skiing at CB, what kept us coming was the Elk Mountain Lodge. It is a charming lodge with all the amenities of a full scale hotel. The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They sit and chat with the guests like they are old friends. We usually get in late on Friday and take over the kitchen (of course cleaning up after ourselves). Breakfasts are delicious, including something hot, homemade jam, fresh baked goods and cereals. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available 24/7. There is always a fire going in the fireplace (at least in the winter). They are 2 blocks from the main road in CB and the bus route to CB ski resort. The beds are more comfortable than my own and I love my bed (if that tells you anything). The rooms are perfect for 2 people. We've met some really wonderful people at the inn and even helped one new friend celebrate her brithday with champagne from the inn's full bar. I highly recommend Elk Mountain Inn, hopefully we will see you next December.
