This was my first time on a snowmobile out in the rocky mountains and was a great route. They start you off on flat ground then a test track, after this you break up into smaller groups (mine was only 4 snowmobiles plus the guide). Most groups were a little bigger, but it looked like they were accomodating the various group sizes. Went up above the tree line and it was crazy white out conditions, felt like you were on a different planet, it was great. Trails through the trees were very scenic and fun to ride as well. Our guide Mario was awesome!

We had a group of 13 people, including 5 children between 11-9 years old. All of us had a wonderful time on our snowmobile tour. The children enjoyed riding their own mini snowmobiles in the practice field (although I think the track does need to be a bit longer for them). All drivers had a passenger, five drivers with children and one driver with an adult passenger. After a fair amount of time on the field to run with and without our passengers, we began a truly scenic and enjoyable tour of the national park. While we never reached high speeds, due to our travel party of youngsters, the views were amazing and the experience fun and very exciting for the kids and a few if the apprehensive adults. My only negative comment would be that our guide did get a bit short-tempered when one of the dads tipped over with his 10 year old son and he had to help them up the embankment. Otherwise, an ideal experience at a reasonable price. Definitely would book tours with them in the future.

My sister, brother-in-law and niece were visiting from Texas during spring break, and my sister checked into this as an alternative after a 12-year break from skiing. What an awesome discovery this was! All of us were over the age of 15, so we opted for the Performance tour, where each of us operates our own snowmobile. (Other, more tame tours are available for tandem riding with kids, and more adventurous tours for experienced riders, as are snowcat and zipline tours). The entire operation is most professional, beginning with a snowmobile operation and handling orientation, then a few laps around the practice track, after which you take off with a small group and your guide (ours was Oz, and he was excellent!) for a trail and open range ride up to 12,500 feet. Lots of fun and very scenic! I am an avid snowboarder and was interested in this trip as an alternative, and I came back wanting to buy a snowmobile. A great way to spend a couple of hours, yet close enough to Leadville, Ski Cooper, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge and Keystone, Vail, Beaver Creek and Loveland. Fun Fun Fun!

My wife and I went up with our son and daughter-in-law on Saturday, 2/22/14. This trip was a belated and surprise Christmas present. I confess to being scared to death. Not of the snowmobile but of freezing to death. The kids live in Denver but we live in Tucson, AZ and didn't exactly have the warmest clothing with us, (it was, after all, a surprise). Not to worry, White Mountain has full snowmobile suits, helmets and boots to loan at no additional cost. Even the handgrips and footwells on the snowmobile are heated. We were toasty warm for the entire trip. A two hour tour was promised and they delivered all of that and then some. We toured in a group of six through the forest on packed trails and into snow bowls with magnificent mountai vistas. All the speed you wanted was there or you could lag back a bit and just enjoy. A very high recommendation for these folks, they really know how to make you happy.
You will definitely need your own gloves and sunglasses or goggles. Other than that, they supply all you need.

White Mountain Tours gave us an amazing adventure! We snowmobiled 2/25/14 and Alan was our awesome guide. Our group of 5 had 2 couples and a single. The single was a 22 year old male who feared the Prospector Tour would be unexciting and boring. He was just as excited and had as much fun as we 40's couples. Alan, our guide, took the time to evaluate the riders in our group and adjust the tour to the adventurous nature of those in our party. The check in was easy, the check out was easy, the company has tons of snow suits and snow boots for loan (for free!) if you need them. They also have an awesome photographer taking your pics throughout the tour with a CD of all your shots available for purchase at the end of the tour. Alan was very informative and allowed us to stop near Turquoise Lake to take pics and gave us tons of info about Leadville, the surrounding mountains and area. We loved it and would recommend this company to everyone!
