We stayed at the Travelodge in October 2010 on a weekend getaway to attractions in that area. I read the reviews on Tripadvisor and this hotel came highly recommended. The Ritz Carlton it is not, but for the money (we also got a AAA discount) it is an incredible deal. The room we stayed in was on the second floor and had two comfortable queen size beds, a small clean fridge and microwave and the full bath was clean. We have two small children and we always stay in hotels that have pools. Unfortunately, some are so cold you cannot even swim in them. However, the Travelodge pool, although not huge, met our needs and the water temperature was very comfortable. Probably the warmest hotel pool I have been in. It was wonderful and provided hours of enjoyment for not only the kids, but also for my husband and I.
The staff was courteous and met our needs, the breakfast was adequate and although no steak and eggs was served, it was more than I expected.

If you are the type of person that expects a large room, flat panel large TV, oversized plush towels and white terry cloth robes, this is not the place for you. But, if you are looking for a comfortable, clean, family friendly affordable hotel, you won't be disapointed. We plan to make more trips to Colorado Springs for weekend getaways, now that we have found a great, cost friendly, place to stay!

This hotel is one of the wonderful hotels I have stayed so far. It is economy but the service is excellent. It has almost all the desirable amenities. I would stay here again.

My husband, 9 month old daughter, and I stayed at the Travelodge while visiting family in the area. We brought our daughter's Pack N' Play for her to sleep in - and after seeing the cleanliness of the room, I'm glad we did. I'm not even sure if they offer travel cribs for guests, but I'd bring your own even if they do.

We pulled back the comforter and noticed that the underside was completely dirty looking. The bottom end of the comforter was white, but the top where our heads/necks/shoulders are was this nasty yellow/brown/grey color. We weren't sure if it was because it hadn't been washed in ages, or if it was just stained.

We're pretty sure two of our many pillows hadn't been washed from previous guests as they smelled like bad men's cologne.

The room did have a microwave and a fridge. The microwave smelled horrible when we ran it though. We had to open the windows to air out the room.

The bathroom seemed clean and when we went to the front desk to get extra towels they gave them to us.

We had a late morning the first day we were there so we had our "do not disturb" sign on the door. We left our room around noon and when we returned that evening our room hadn't been cleaned. I some hotels will still clean your room in the afternoon - this one didn't. We were fine with that, but thought I'd comment on it in case someone cared about that sort of thing.

We checked the bed for bedbugs since that's a big thing right now and everything seemed really clean - although there were crumbs on the mattress under the sheet. Random. I'd rather find crumbs than bugs though.

I reviewed the ratings and selected this hotel because it was rated number 3 by popularity. I will not trust trip advisors ratings again. This place is Old, Tired, Worn completely out. It should not even been listed. Many hotels to chose from with comparative rates and newer and cleaner.

Booked in advance. Motel is a block off the highway which attenuates some of the traffic noise. Great location that is close to Pikes Peak, Garden of Gods and Old Colorado City. Room was huge with window air conditioner that barely kept up. Room was clean and everything worked. Forget the continental breakfast - make plans to catch breakfast in town.

This hotel had both positives & negatives. The location is great-- just minutes from everything to do in Colorado Springs & Manitou Springs. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was heated & nice. Be sure & get your towels for the pool at the front desk, there are no extra towels in the pool area. The rooms were just OK & needed a little updating. We had to go to the front desk several times to get the key recoded to get in our room. The thing that bothered me the most was that the back door was unlocked for anyone to come in. Saw several food delivery people coming & going through the back door. Most hotels we have stayed in you have to have a guest key to get in any of the outside doors. For me it just made it feel unsafe to know just anyone could come in off of the street.
