We like to stay at these residence inns because we like having lots of room. The penthouse suites with the two bedrooms and two bathrooms are our favorites. We have stayed at several and this one is truly the best. It is a little better equipped and our one problem with the TV was solved instantly. A special touch was the document provided which allowed us to make our requests clearly known to our maid whose English was severely limited. There was also outdoor party area and even a place for animals to play.

Room Tip: Penthouse suites are large and very well equipped and a good buy for the money.

During the Waldo Canyon Fire in Colorado Springs we were evacuated and needed a home away from home while our home was being renovated. The Residence Inn provided a comfortable home with our pets two parrots and a 90-pound lab for nearly 4 months. The staff was fabulous, the accommodations were excellent and they made us feel so welcome during this stressful time. The room includes a breakfast everyday and several evenings each week they offer a light dinner.

Overall, we had a very good experience. Here is a quick rundown.

The Good
* Location (to shopping, restaurants, attractions).
* Staff
* Free breakfast quality
* Recreational space
* Cleanliness
* Value

The Bad
* Our room had a musty smell, but we bought some air freshener and got rid of or covered up the problem.
* The noise level from Academy Ave is significant at nearly all hours.
* First floor customers complained of noise from second floor rooms.

In the end, we'd definitely stay at this hotel again. Yes, it is a bit dated, like most Residence Inns these days, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. It's clean, priced right and staffed by friendly, accommodating people.

Room Tip: * Ask for a second floor room away from Academiy Ave. * When going to Pike's Peak area attracti...

The Residence Inn Central is the perfect pet-friendly hotel. The rooms are quite large, there is a kitchen, and there are exterior doors so it's easy to take your pet outside. It's more like being in a condo than a hotel. Great choice when you're traveling with your furry friends!

I travel 280 days a year for business and my 3rd time in Colorado Springs, being that I stayed at this hotel before, thought I would try it again. The outer appearance of the Suites needs improving, can see that the building is old. The inside of the rooms are averaged, the furniture is old but the house keeping does a wonderful job of maintaining it. The do have free wifi but does not work half of the time, if you want wired internet, only the upstairs room have wired. A car wash is close by and on weekends, you can hear loud music. On the other side are so low income apartments, can get noisy. I did see some working girls residing here, can cause problems if you have children. Not many restaurants near by. The breakfast bar is great, the dinner bar? bring your own food. Laundry room good. There is a male manager that can be rude at times. If you are on business, this isn't a great place. For pleasure, probably great for you.

Nice room, loft with full bathroom upstairs also. Full kitchen area, rustic but clean and the front desk personnel were very helpful with any questions you had. Managers special in the breakfast area Mon-Wed 6-730pm with free beer/wine and while i was here: first night- cheese & crackers with salsa. second night- chips, salsa, chill, sour cream, cheese. third night- hot dogs, chill, salad, chips, pickles. Close to Academy Blvd, normal breakfast of chain hotels.

Room Tip: Rooms closer to the main lobby are better. The farther away the closer to the highway.
