“Great service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2014

Our first room had fruit flies in the bathroom sink. The front desk was apologetic and moved us immediatly. King suite was very roomy but small improvements (dinged up hangers and dressers) could have made it shine. The pool is in the lobby so that is a little odd. I would not have felt comfortable using it. More for kids only.I have never had a better breakfast!! Made to order omlettes and great service. From the front desk to the waitstaff they could not have been better. We will come back.

Family vacation to Colorado Springs. Blood on the comforter which was changed once reported. Room bathroom smelled like urine. The smell was reported multiple times but never addressed. Needless to say we checked out early. I would not recommend this hotel!

So, visiting the Springs to see family and The Academy hotel was recommend. Issue number one occurred when I received a rate quote over the phone that suddenly jumped $20 when I got to the counter. It was rectified but still.....moving on. A big selling point is that they have an indoor pool. It is a floating cess pool. I was there for 4 days and all they did was add chlorine to it so much so that you could smell it from just about anywhere in the hotel. The water was so murky that if you stood in the 5' section you would not be able to see your knees and let me add the hot tub was 10 times worse. It's always full of horrible children splashing and acting like minions and they never have towels. The rooms are spacious and the showers amazing but the maid service is sketchy at best. I asked for towels (4) and to have the bed made. What I received was two towels and the be wasn't touched and then the made looked confused. The breakfast buffet is delicious, great food and the omelet guy is one of a kind. Dinner......for the prices they charge I would go else where. I ordered a Mojito (easy enough to make) and it was without a doubt the worst Mojito I ever had. Mint wasn't muddled, the soda water was flat, there was no simple syrup and I think it was half rum....for the price of the rooms I would not stay there again unless the local trailer park was full.....

Very pleasantly surprised by breakfast (similar to Embassy Suites).

Room is average. Very tight with rollaway bed for a 5th person in the room. Our building didn't have an elevator. Front desk service was ok. Had to ask twice for the rollaway. The guy bringing the bed was great.

No fussy lobby here! This lobby is where the action is at. There is The Pit that has a fireplace surrounded by cushiony chairs. The best free breakfast ever is set up in the lobby. Patrick the Omelette Man was amazing. He had 5 omelettes cooking but still have time to show you where the butter was.

Room Tip: We were right across from the elevator and never heard noise except l loud talking once that you wou...

Green Features: recycled cups were used, each room had a separate trash can for recyclables but it wasn't labelled past being green. Energy efficient setting on a/c, heat.

we almost always stay here - unless they are booked- when we do entertainment away from home (another 100 miles away) - the FREE breakfast is wonderful and we love Patrick the head chef, - indoor pool (have never used, but always has people in it) - quiet! and also a $10 food voucher at the Falcon Grill the evening you stay - you CANNOT find a better deal.....it is older but clean and the beds are good - worth every penny!

Room Tip: only 2 floors in "A" wing and no elevator, but we like the location

Green Features: this hotel doesn't change linens unless you wish and NO little bottles - pumps on the walls - very good practice

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a great experience. The room was very comfortable and clean. I loved the room darkening shade since I don't like light shining in when I am trying to sleep. The breakfast was the best on our two week trip. They have made to order omelets, waffles, eggs, sausage, ham, muffins, and more. All the staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Colorado Springs and would definitely come back again. Thanks for a pleasant stay.
