“one of the best on our 3 week road trip”
Reviewed May 10, 2011

Loved this BW. The breakfast bar was the best we had on this 3 week road trip. The room was spotless, and we enjoyed the indoor pool. The atrium had 'common' areas that our teens enjoyed, including the biz center :)

Or particular note: front desk employees VICTORIA, NATHAN and RYAN were amazing. Not only with us (directions and misc stuff) but i observed them with other guests and their patience was unreal. Good job guys :)

The little goodie bag in the room was also a nice touch! :)

Would DEF stay here again - and hope to soon!

What happened to this hotel? I lived in Colorado Springs for years and always used this hotel for guests. We still have family there and visit quite often and this trip was for my daughters surgery. I made sure to let the front desk know upon check in. The room was accedptable but after a long drive we found the hottub was cold. We were told it would be ready in the morning but it was cold for our entire stay with no apologies from the hotel. After a 5 am wake up and all day hospital stay with our daughter we came back to our room not cleaned. We called the front desk in which they promised immediate service. We ended up calling two more times before getting a housekeeper sometime in the early evening. Front desk guys seem to have an unconcerned attitude! We noticed the rates were quite high for the middle of the week without any events in town and forget a late check out!

If you need a place to stay while visiting the Air Force Academy, this is a great choice! Believe it or not, we decided to stay here over the lovely Broadmoor Resort, because it is so close to the AFA and the rate just can't be beat. We were there in April when the Broadmoor's outdoor pool was closed, & our trip focus was to see the Academy, so we decided not to spend the extra money to be there. We could not have been happier at the Best Western! It is newly renovated & up to date with everything needed. Chris at the front desk handled our reservation & put me at ease right away that we were in good hands. We liked having breakfast items available (& included!) each morning & happy hour was an option in the evening (an inexpensive, around $3.00, nice glass of wine ready for us after a long day of touring). Gena in the lounge area was so patient when I couldn't decide what to order from the happy hour menu; she knew I was tired & took very good care of us. The photos on the hotel website are accurate. You can't go wrong!

Room Tip: Ask for the renovated rooms

We spent the weekend in Colorado Springs and stayed here, it was good value for money. The main lobby area is pleasant, although I was surprised that this is where the swimming pool is situated. The kids had a blast in the pool which looked very clean and pool towels were provided as were chairs and loungers for those not wishing to join in!
The room was more than adequate, containing a fridge, microwave, coffee making and ironing facilities and a flat screen TV with a choice of channels. It was clean upon arrival but on our 2nd evening we noticed that just the bed had been made, towels changed and the trash emptied. It was not quite so clean!!
We didn't sleep that well because there was a ghastly air-conditioning unit in the room that kept going off really loudly all night and we were really cold. We found it difficult to regulate. There were no blankets in the room and I didn't like to call Housekeeping in the middle of the night! The following evening we switched the unit off which was quiet, but made the room very warm and stuffy. Unfortunately you couldn't throw open a window.
I read in the Guest Directory that you could order a fold out bed which we did for our small child. Beware as the front desk tried to charge us for this, whereas it clearly states in the Directory that it is a complimentary service.
The shower was fantastic - hot and powerful and breakfast was very reasonable and much better on Sunday morning when you could have freshly made omlettes and waffles.
Be aware that the elevators are frustratingly slow - we took the stairs most of the time.
Be sure to try the cookies - yum!!!

Beautiful lobby. Friendly check-in staff and mini muffins on desk. Good-sized room that didn't feel cramped and that was clean. Good bath amenities. Wi-fi worked well. Great fitness room -- machines, free weights and a flat-screen tv. Breakfast was wonderful. Made-to-order omelets, waffles, cold and hot cereal, muffins and other baked goods, biscuits and gravy, variety of teas, coffee, milk, juice and other things I'm sure. Very friendly breakfast chef and staff. Pool right off the lobby but screened with plants and fenced. I would stay here again.

On reading the reviews 70/30 on good/bad I almost canceled, but glad I did not. The room was clean, quiet. Loved the WIFI in room. As stated in other reviews, breakfast is highlight with buffet style (fruit, cereal, rolls, juice, french toast, hash browns, grits, ...) plus omelets and waffle machine. Staff was friendly and courteous.

I suspect "bad" reviews may be from competitor or someone low on prescription medication. I'd go again. Convenient to freeway, without the noise.

We booked this hotel because it had an indoor pool. When we checked in we were told the pool was closed. When we asked the manager if she could compensate us in any way she went on to tell us we should have known that the pool was closed because it was on the company website. Nothing like insulting and arguing with the people that you rely on for business. When we booked the room weeks before it was in fact not the website. She then said that we could have $10 off the room, we were happy with that and felt it compensated us for not having a pool. When we got the bill at 0530 the day we checked out we found out that we in fact did not get $10 off the room and because we had to get to the airport did not have time to try and straighten it out with the front desk. On a good note the breakfast is very good, with made to order omelets and waffles. Only downfall is the coffee, its horrible. The employees that work the breakfast are nice.
The business center is nice with free access and printing.
Fitness center has a good weight room, 2 treadmills, 1 bike and 1 stare-stepper.
The room itself is ok, the bathroom is small.
